Only to some extent and under some conditions. Some drugs should NEVER be legal.
-
What!?! Do you mean that I've been breaking the law for all this time now.....Damn!
-
well yes i think they shld it all comes down to choice if u choose to do ether it is ur choice what u do with and to ur body of corse there shld b bounderies for the use of drugs to protect other ppl
-
Prostitution, yes. Regulated and with mandatory health checks. Drugs, no. Marijuana I'm ok with. Other drugs, no.
-
Well, if they made drugs legal and cheap we would weed out some of the stupid in the country. I don't know why prostitution is illegal in the first place. As long as it's regulated it's fine.
-
Yes. Give the pink slip to hypocrytical vice squad and tax the pimps and pushers. Imagine the revenue in just one year! What depression?
-
Yes and Yes. No other man, or woman, should be enabled to tell any other man, or woman, what they can do with their own body.
-
The legalization of these things - and they tend to go hand in hand would help in some ways. However, I feel that prostitution is a debasement of humanity, reducing our urge to love and procreation to a simple animal urge for physical/psychic relief. We do not have four cloven hooves and graze in the grass! Drugs are often concommitant with prostitution and they alter our natural mind-set. Some may say for the better - but it doesn't seem to last. So... legal? Gets rid of the predators, sure. I would like to see a society that transcended the need for debasement of itself. Am I dreaming? Maybe.
-
Yes to both with the right controls and hey the govt can tax us on it then aswell
-
Anything to get it off the streets. It's such sleaze.
-
prostition- no drugs- yes
-
I don't care. Let people do what they want to do. Just quit asking me to pay for the consequences.
-
nope.
-
Not only should they be legal, but the people should be much more educated on the health risks, prevention, and encouraged to make wise choices.
-
Why lump these two social institutions in one group? The two may share similities but they are not one in the same.
-
Yes, both should be legal, along with gambling...
-
Pot maybe but that's about it.
-
to a great extent - they already are if the police were to arrest and detain all drug users and prostitutes overnight there would be a huge unrest prostitution is one of the oldest professions in our world and similar arguments for drugs too although i would like to see a crackdown on hard drug use (crack/heroin)
-
Weed, yes it should but maintain a good quality. The economy would be back on it's feet. But prostitution should be how it already is, a tourist attraction in Nevada.
-
no to both but I am surprised the the crazy liberal femminist who always cry that a woman can do what she wants with her own body isnt making a fuss over this being illegal. I mean, after, its her body. She could sell it if she wanted to right?
-
Prostitution yes drugs some
-
no way
-
yes and yes. Because people should be allowed to do what they want to their bodies.
-
These are things that no government beyond the "town" or "city" level should ever concern themselves with. There's no excuse for state-level regulation of such things.
-
i believe yes to both it TOTALLY depends on the drugs and how they are used and i only support prostitution when done in a safe setting where no one is forced to do anything they dont want to, they get tested at least once a week, the act of sex is traded for money, everyone involved is atleast 18 and ALL girls are safe inside a brothel, not the streets. if given set rules by the government prostitution can be done in a safe way. after that its just a question of your personal morals.
-
NO and NO, NOT IN THIS COUNTRY
-
not prostitution nor drugs...
-
i personally think that ALL (illegal)drugs should be illegal.for medication, that's anpther story.
-
That stuff is horrible! It should continue and Always be Illegal!
-
these things can tear you apart from the abdomen out with ur entrails dragging on the floor
-
Completely. 100% legal and totally unregulated by the federal government.
-
Absolutely. There is NO logical argument that would support not legalizing, specifically, marijuana and prostitution. The illegality has not, will not, and cannot stop people from choosing to engage in these activities. The only results of the legal status regarding drugs and prostitution is the following: Criminals are in charge, no regulation and no revenue from taxation. Our national drug laws are a joke and anyone who drinks alcohol and yet has a righteous attitude towards, what is in comparison, such a benign and certainly innocuous drug like marijuana is a HYPOCRITE.
-
Laws don't stop people from doing illegal things. Drugs and prostitution should both be legal and regulated. Just like gun control, only people who follow the law will not obtain hand guns.
-
depends on the attitude in our society towards these so called behaviors, if legalized it should be regulated.
-
I would say that drugs should be legal, but prositution should remain criminal (although I would suggest following the Swedish Model and criminalising the purchase of sex NOT the selling). My reason for this is that drugs can only (usually) be used to harm yourself, whilst prostitution usually results in the harm of women - sex trafficking and violence being major problems. Secondly, I don't think you should be able to purchase the human body - just as I don't believe you should be able to purchase someones organs or blood. There is too much room for abuse.
-
hmm
-
Both should be legal. There should be no laws about what you can do with/to your own self or with a consenting person.
-
Of course! Anything that's between consenting individuals should be legal. Government has no moral right to interfere in peaceful activities between consenting individuals. "Freedom is the only thing you can't have unless you give it to others."
-
I believe so. The government should have no holds on how you life your life. Drugs can be monitored easily, just as beer and tobacco are, and prostitution is like consensual sex. To deny us these things means we are truly not a free nation, no matter how much the government say they are.
-
It might be a good idea on both counts. One of the problems with both is their relationship to crime. If it was legal to purchase drugs, there wouldn't be a black market. If it was legal to buy the favors of a prostitute and we licensed them, STDs would go down.
-
Here we go
-
Yes on both counts. Especially prostitution. It's done in various ways legally. People sleep with others for power, position, influence. Why not actual cash? Alcohol is legal, smoking is legal. If people want to destroy their bodies, go right ahead.
-
Legalize both, tax it, regulate it, that would pay off the debt in a short time and we would have a surplus of funds, but only if we make it for emergency funding not for everything that the elected servant's want to spend anyway they want.
-
Prostitution and marijuana should be. We should tax our vices instead of our needs.
-
HELL NO !!! WTF ! thats the reason people are so messed up these days..and specially drugs,,the killing and murders that are happening do it ! i am 101% against both !
-
Over my dead body! Making something legal only offers those considering it permission to do it. I do not want my grandchildren taking drugs, nor do I want my grand daughters to consider prostitution as a "career opportunity!"
-
If you want a prostitute go to Nevada. It's already legal there.
-
Addicts should be treated not imprisioned
-
Some drugs and no on prostitution
-
do you know anyone that somkes weed i think it should depend on the drug (no on prostition) people that drink alchohol cause soooo so so many more problems that people that smoke pot like bar fights and domestic abuse and drunk drivers killing people people that smoke pot never do these kind of things unless they also drink or do other drugs or are just already like that
-
i think they should both be legal. In most of nevada prostitution is legal, and is safer for the prostitutes and clients than any other state. Fewer STDs, less violence taken out on the prostitutes, etc. As for drugs I wouldnt be willing to take most illegal drugs as there is no quality control. I would be willing to try most pharmaceutical grade drugs (with or without a prescription) with some exceptions as i cant afford to loose my job due to a positive drug test.
-
NO TO BOTH. drugs make morons. i dont even like alcohol. the only thing its good for is cooking... prostitution...this society is sex crazed enough. maybe instead of finding an easy hole to stick it in men should work on themselves (women too!) and masterbate more. any form of escapism is WRONG! if you cant face reality, change!
-

Got it on a t-shirt: "Legalize everything"! ;-)
-
hmmmp! no way jose!
-
Drugs should not be allowed legal.
-
Prostitution is legal in some states like Nevada but drugs are not...I don't think drugs should be legal and I'm not talking about weed but meth and crack and heroine, you know nasty shit like that...
-
Prostititution yes, drugs no. I believe drugs should be regulated by the government, and that individual countries should be allowed to decide weather or not prostitution is illegal. I would love to see prostitution spread as an accepted profession, boy would that make life easier for me.
-
Drugs Yes. As long as the drug world is run by professionals who are hired by government with strict rules and regulations. Completely controlled by government
-
well really the worst thing might be that the politicans would have a new source of income to squander away because both have been around and will never go away...+5.
-
oldest profession and something highly prohibited.. if these were legalized, I think corruption, polygamy will be legalized as well and I don't know if people will brew up something more evil than these. these acts may have helped (than causing more child molestation and rape) (to get over depression and anxiety)and worsened people already. great question, that really makes me think. if it was legal people may look for something more stimulating or not.. I'll think about this question more
-
Why not spend the money creating an enviroment where neither is required, reducing the need for desperate measures or avenues of social relief for those driven to the wall by a failed society from capitolism and politicians who care not for those they cannot create gain from ... Peace
-
Yes. Alcohol Prohibition didn't work. We still have prostitution and drugs. During A.P., the term "rotgut" orginated due to no control over alcohol manufacture.
-
Yes or decriminalizated at least!
-
Yes. Just because they're illegal doesn't mean that people are not doing it
-
no...do u think abortion should be? illegal aliens ? driving while under the influence? price gouging? etc... why not just throw out all moral and ethical LAWS/humane,civilized, justness.... have our population is hooked on drugs....prescription and non.....thanks to abundant pharmeceutical advertisements.....they should not be LEGAL....
-
hell no
-
Yes. They then could be offered at school hot lunch programs. q:)

To prostitute means to put to unworthy use. The "profession" of prostitution inherently involves fornication (i.e., sexual immorality). Prostitution is sinful and to legalize it does not make it any less sinful. Legalizing it sanctions it, but to the damnation of our society. Just because it can not be completely stopped, does not mean that the society should give into it. Oh, how many other vices would desire legal sanction because of the lawlessness of those practicing it! Society would be completely overrun by the evils that it permits legally. Drugs in the form of narcotics or pharmaceuticals (from the Greek word, pharmakeia, means sorcery) are not as easy to rule out. Drugs for medicinal purposes should be allowed but highly regulated. So-called "recreational" drugs which have strong hallucenogenic or deluding influences that only serve to alter the state of one's consciousness should and must continue to be prohibited. Sobriety is virtuous. Delusion lends itself to sinful behavior. To legalize "recreational" drugs is to permit people to self-induce themselves into delusion. What an awful society would that be!
-
i think prostitution should be legalized, why not it's happening all the time everywhere so why not make it safer for the girls who work. i think some drugs should be legalized but not all.
-
Drugs- no! As for prostitution, I am split on this. As a christian I am against prostitution because sex is not just a physical act, but an emotional and spiritual joining. However, I write this with dirty hands, as I have been known to engage the services of young ladies in this manner. Plus, I could see myself making a phone call, like ordering a pizza, and having a young college woman show up at my door. But, it might lead to an increase in the divorce rate, nation-wide and their is the sinful side of the matter, so I would say no... Does that answer it?
-
has making it illegal ever stopped it? The thought of some poor drug riddled girl being beat up and abused by pimps and gangsters bothers me far more than the act of prostitution does. I would feel better if these places were legal with bouncers to protect the girls and drug tests with the protection of the law to ensure their safety. Of course in am ideal world i wish that they didn't exist at all but they do and always will. Same for drugs because all making it illegal has done is line the pockets of criminals and fuel the problem.
-
I believe prostitution should be legal (as it currently is in most of the world)... but I think that kerb crawling should not, and brothels if they are to be legal should be very heavily regulated. Very heavily. Drugs... I really don't care when it comes to drugs. I can see it from both sides. I don't want to encourage them, but then who am I to say whether someone can or can't potentially screw their life up with drugs? I did it myself, and eventually got through the other end just fine. I just feel like legalisation of all drugs would be tantamount to enouraging or condoning things which are not for the best. Regardless though - whether both or legal or not, it will happen, so perhaps we should do whatever will make it safest for those who do it?
-
absolutley not!! i believe in medical use of marijuana but thats it!! the countries where prositution is legal all over have trageties, where young girls are corrupted! you have to see Taken the movie, it really happens! also no drugs should be legal except pot because i just think its a waste to put people in prison because of it! plus alcohols worse then pot so i think its hypocritical
-
No, prostitution and drugs should not be legal. It is just wrong to do so.
-
Yes. Prohibition only taught us one thing. Making something illegal doesn't stop it, it just makes it more expensive and all the profits go untaxed to organized crime. Make these legal, tax the crap out of them and be amazed at how the appeal for them will wane. Hope this helps.
-
ABSOLUTELY! Legalize all drugs and you will have no more drug dealers, less organized crime, less prisoners, less prison costs, less legal costs, higher quality and safer drugs, less wasted government spending and a whole new source of federal revenue. Legalize prostitution and you will have less organized crime, safer prostitutes (in regards to protection and cleanliness) and you could tax the prostitutes. Too bad our bureaucracy is too convoluted to allow any REAL change to happen. +3
-
No and No
-
I dont know about prostitution but they should just legalize marijuana they would save alot on taxpayers money for locking up ppl for carrying marijuana.
-
yes i don't support prostitution however i fully support the idea of legalizing drugs. i dont do them anymore but i feel that anything besides a hallucinogen should be legal...i feel that what you do to your body should be your own business
-
Both things are harmful to those who do them in many ways but people are going to do what they're going to do, not caring what the consequences are or how they might effect the lives of others. There are much healthier choices people can make. No, I don't think either one should be legal. If there was less of that stuff in the world there would be less sorrow and sadness afterward. Think about it.
-
I believe prostitution and Marijuana should be legal. So far all America's War on Drugs has accomplished is overcrowding every prison and wasting billions of tax dollars. Illegalizing marijuana and prostitution has only succeeded in making otherwise law abiding people into criminals and destroying their lives to appease the Draconian morals of religious zealots.
-
In my world I would like to say yes to both. I think prostitution should be legalized under regulation in America. I think pot should be legalized only if the said people go through some kind of psychological testing and get approved, only because some people just can't handle pot. Being a very avid pot smoker I know this is true. People should have testing done and get cards or something but lets face it, if you want to do drugs whos to stop you either way? I have been able to get my hands on any drug I wanted so testing for mental issues probably wouldn't help anyway.
-
prostitution yes- as long as it can be regulated and safe for both people. no pimps- uncle sam will be enough. drugs- a person's body is their body. if we didn't make such a stink about things we wouldn't have such an issue with it. the war on drugs sure is a money/income producer that the government isn't really doing too much to stop. putting people in prison for drug use is a waste of their time & our tax payers money-but it keeps a lot of people employed. doctors have been too easy to prescribe drugs to people who become addicted to them. everyone I know is on something their doctor prescribed to them. some people are on so many drugs it's a wonder they are alive. either way, people walk around medicated. so whether self medicated or doctor prescribed-hardly anyone is themselves these day's. just make it legal and we can maybe win the war on drugs. Something good might happen. treat people for what's the deeper problem with them and the drugs won't be needed. that's just my thoughts anyway
-
Yep
-
Yes.
-
Yes, I want them both and would like the open market make them both affordable! Prostitution will cut down on a shit load of teen pregnancies and affairs.
-
Yep. People should be able to choose what they put into their own bodies, so long as they are not putting other people at risk. And also, I don't understand why prostitution is illegal in the first place! You can give sex away for free, but it's illegal to accept money for it?! People should be able to have sex with whoever they want to, provided only consenting adults are involved. Regulating prostitution also would ensure a safer environment for both prostitutes and clients.
-
yes on both counts it would generate millions of pounds in tax for the government.
-
Yes both should be legal. Prostitutes particularly would benefit.. No more Pimps, regular health checks, a place to work out of legally, no trouble from the police. along with the punters the go to prostitutes, less risk of STD's etc.. It's going to happen, So why not take a grown up approach to it. Drugs should also be legal.. Or at least de-criminalized Holland is the best example of this.. And i don't just mean marijuana.. because lets face it.. So what about marijuana.. nobody died, or goes out mugging to get their fix of that, im talking about hard drugs, in Holland.. if you have a cocaine habbit for example you can pick it up from a doctor.. Not ideal, but at least everybody knows what they are taking, and the government can tax it... alot easier and safer all around.
-
Prostitution: Yes but only if they can clean up their act and regulations can be enforced. Drugs: Never.
-
HELL YEAH!!!!!
-
Prostitution? Maybe. That's more of an ethical question than I care to deal with. Drugs? Yes, but only if they're natural.
-
i think yes for prostitution, b/c its the person's body and its there business what they do with it. i'm not sure about drugs. but i always wondered... if prostitution was legal would there be less rape situations? =/
-
prostitution shouldnt be leagal. it would spread stds more rapidly then they are already being spread. certain drugs should be legalized..as long as they arent man made. they should be natural. the man made on are the ones that will kill you and this society!
-
Of course. Making both illegal has NOT worked in the least. (With the exception of certain drugs like heroin and amphetamines, etc., which should be regulated and controlled)Marijuana being illegal is an ABSURDITY when one considers that alcohol, which, unlike marijuana is dangerous, is legal. (The ultimate hypocrisy). As far as prostitution is concerned, it will always thrive regardless of its legal status. Why not remove the criminal element and tax, regulate and control it (drugs too) ???
-
yes to prostitution with the kind of over site medical and food service gets no to drugs, even Marijuana leads to proplems. it should be a proscription use medicine only.
-
Yes! Women should be able to do with their bodies as they like! And take the "profit" out of drugs and there would be no incentive to SELL drugs. Thus. . .the selling of it would stop and the usage of it would stop; or be less prolific!
-
Hell no. People don't have the right just do whatever they want with their bodies. What do they think this is, a free country?
-
Sure, it would make things a lot easier for a lot of people. It would also bring up some other issues we may not agree with, but I think it would be for the better.
