  • leave it on until it runs out of power, it probably froze, that happened to me, but...you probably already know this by now.
  • Keep the pause/stop button pressed for a couple of seconds. It will work. If it doesnt then reinstall the software through iPod/iTune software update.
  • I had this happen a couple times. Do a hard reset. You can do this by pressing and holding the Center and Menu buttons (at the same time) for 6 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears. It will reboot, then it should be able to shut of normally
