• It sounds like a severe muscle contraction. The splayed toes and flexing it out is the clue. This is similar to what happens to sports players when they overreach themselves, and have to "walk it off". You might want to check with your doctor and see if it's due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Sometimes it means you need more fresh fruits and green, leafy vegetables in your diet.
  • It just sounds like you had a muscle spasm or tendon trouble. Rest it and rub some deep heat cream etc onto your foot and hopefully you'll be ok. If not go to physo
  • It was a spasm and it's telling you that you shouldn't be sitting cross legged anymore. This can cause not only the problem you had, but varicose veins and heart problems in the near future.
