  • oh my gosh that is so sad. I would check with your vet and find out what they would suggest. Someone here may have an answer. I mainly just wanted to say I was sorry. Take Care.
  • I don't have your answer but just wanted to tell you how very, very sorry I am about your dog. I will watch the answers here as my dogs are getting older and I agree with you completely about the 'scary vet stuff'.
  • So sorry to hear that. If you can get the Vet to come to your home. That would be way more comfortable for your puppy.
  • I'm very sorry to hear this. Please don't try something OTC. Consult with your vet. The vet may have something that you can use at home or perhaps the vet would be willing to come to your home to administer. Once again, I'm very sorry to hear that this is necessary. Best of luck to you and hang in there. Thinking about you. {{hugs}}
  • sorry for your loss. you need to have a vet take care of this to avoid any unnecessary suffering. we had to put down my dog a few months ago. it was very peaceful, and it was just like he fell asleep. it was upsetting for me, but he was in bad shape and i knew that we were doing the right thing for him. having the vet there was very helpful for the process, as was having family around. he died with loving hands on him.
  • Try this.... http://www.housecallvets.org/ Your vet should have some advice for you as well. I did this with my 18yr mutt. Wouldn't have done it any other way. It takes courage to put down someone you love. And compassion. You are doing the right thing....
  • So sorry for your situation. I know how tough it is. I would absolutely NOT, and I say again NOT try any otc concoction! You could / probably would end up making him suffer! How would you feel if he was convulsing, and died a painful death? Pleas don't try it! There are vets that will come to your house, sometimes with only a minimal added charge. Even if it is an extra $50 or $75, it is worth it for allowing him to be in his relaxing surroundings, and you will know that he was at home with you until the end. That way it will not be as scary for him. You are also assured that it will occur in the most humane way possible. It is injected, which is much faster acting than intestinal. I'm getting a bit choked up thinking about my departed beloved Thor being gone. Please don't try pills!
  • Have tyhe vetto your home and od it there.
  • I hope you got this resolved - not only for you - but your beloved pet. I know of no known pill you can give your dog to do this. I hope you were able to call a vet and have him/her come over and help you. Read the poem - the rainbow bridge. I am sorry.
  • If you have q good vet, he/she will be of invaulable help.
