  • The concept for releasing weight is simple. Take in fewer calories than you burn. At rest you probably burn between 2000 and 3000 calories a day. With exercise you can increase that burn. If you were to take in, say 1500 to 1800 calories a day and go about your normal activities, you would lose weight. If you exercised as well you would lose more rapidly. Standard approaches are to eat smaller portions, drink lots and lots of water, skip all sweets, go easy on the carbohydrates and heavy on the proteins. Most of the diet programs work, the problem is sticking to them...and once the weight is gone, keeping it off. Good luck.
  • Diets don't work. It has to be a lifestyle change. Almost everyone I know who has lost weight successfully thru a program has used Weight Watchers. Good luck.
