  • historical question love these well i guess you could say both and good model to show what happens when goverment of any kind is abusive for example if tax's were not being enforced so heavily and was more lax with ham fisting the colony's then who knows where we would be today especially since the english would have lost WW1 and WW2 considering their politics on weapons and such forth.
  • Terrific question. You asked if they were patriots or traitors, or could they be both. From the perspective of the British they definitely were seen as traitors. From their own perspective they were patriots. Also from the revolutionaries' perspective, it was not them who abandoned the King, but the other way around. And, in fairness, the Declaration of Independence was a direct confrontation -- it was a frontal attack, not a stab in the back. Asking whether it depends on failure or success is very perceptive. There is an old saying that history is written by the winners. (As an American, I like the way it turned out. But the fact that we won the war inevitably meant that this history has our "spin" on it.)
