I'm a quarter Irish and a Catholic. With a love of alcohol and soda bread. But I still don't, really. I don't celebrate St Andrews day, either.

One need not be Christian, or even Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day... one need only be 21, or whatever the legal drinking age in your local jurisdiction may be.
