  • I don't think a 82% is a B, Miss Anubis. Then again, grade scales do vary depending on the school district and whether it is a high school class or a college one. And yes, I know, that you are taking a college class. Don't be too miffed at me!
  • It depends upon how much the exam counts towards your final mark. If it is worth 50% for example then your final mark would be 72% still great!
  • Depends on the weighting, but 2%, I'm pretty sure it could drop you to a high C. Sorry.
  • I suggest you turn off the computer and focus on keeping that number above 80% just to be safe. :)
  • Depends on what percentage of your grade the exam is worth.
  • It depends on how much the final is worth. Most scenarios i can think of would have you falling to a C if you got a 62. Sorry
  • Since you said that a 60% on your final would knock you down from a B, I'm assuming that you've already done the math to figure this out. But what I've noticed both as a student and as a professor is that students tend to perform relatively the same from test to test. Sure, there's occasionally a higher or lower score which raises or lowers the mean, but if your average is an 82 and you need only a 60 to ensure that you keep your B, I'd just prepare a little harder than you have been in the past (since most finals are comprehensive) or just like you have been and you shouldn't have to worry too much about it. I never share this information with my students, however, because I don't want them to feel complacent about their grade, slack off, and fail. So, just make sure you prepare, and I'm going to guess that you'll keep your B. I also assume that if you need a 60% to keep your B, there's absolutely no chance to raise the 82% to an A? If there is (i.e., the professor replaces a lower test score with this one), then go for the A.
