• Interesting question. I think people would be more skeptical, for three main reasons: 1) We have a much better understanding of life, the universe and everything. 2) We also live in a less religious world, in that there are over a billion non-religious people about. 3) I think people would need a lot of convincing of why they needed to be "saved" and what from. Myself included. 4) Religion has less control over lives now, less public burning! However, if He were to perform genuine mircals and spread His message well then I'm sure people would accept Him, but as ever opinion would be very divided. I don't think Christianity would become very large, as we are living in a world where most religions are decreasing, just some are going quickly, some slowly. Nethertheless, a 21st century Jesus would still have a noticable effect. There are of course people who are expecting Jesus to return soon anyway, either to set up a new kingdom or just for a nice holiday. It would be interesting to think about what Church would be like then. Would all the Christians go around with little electric chairs around their necks?
• NO, he would not, cause now DrLaura seems to feel that she is the Savior.
• No,...definitely not. He would be considered a false prophet, and when he performed miracles people would say that it was the "devils work", and that he was just an illusionist.
• No he would be considered a lunatic and either thrown into jail or into an asylum.
• No. Jesus: Sell your flat screens and give the money to the poor People: Ok...well...can we just like, down grade or something? Get an old-fashioned monitor? Jesus:....
• If he were the true Messiah, then I'm sure those of us who have believe in God would know it was the true Messiah. Godfather Part II: I took an Alpha course at my church (sort of a Christianity 101 class) and one thing the teacher pointed out was that if Jesus were hung would we consider the gallows our 'cross' and wear it around our necks and such. It gave one something to think about. God Bless, <:))))<><
• I think that the reaction to Him today, if He were to appear as He did, would be the same as in the first century. I do not think people have a better knowledge of life the universe and everything, but they think they do. Discussions at parties with people prove that only too sadly.
• Personally, I think he would be ridiculed. No one would really truly know he was Jesus and I think he would be treated like a crazy old man and laughed at and probably placed in a home for crazy people. People today are less willing to accept that he is real, I think, IMO.
• I would be like liar, who do you think you are? People are more skeptical now a days. A lot of crazy bums on the streets of NYC say they are Jesus... could it be him?
• I don't think he'd be taken seriously. People would think he was some homeless guy or something like that. If he did indeed show abilities to prove his case, then some people may try to kill him, or the military might try to use him in some way.
• Without trying to be silly, I think he would be seen much like L.Ron Hubbard. Some would follow him, and everyone else would think he was an insane man, trying to form a cult.
• I've actually thought about this a lot lately. I think he would be ridiculed and put down for claiming that he was the son of god, but eventually media would pick up on miricles that he was performing and he would be seen for who he really was.
• So many people have little faith these days. I think someone would suggest he take a few Risperdal. See, the thing is Jesus will not be born when he returns. He will have a spirit body surrounded by angels. People may have a different opinon when they witness this form!
• He wasn't 2000 years ago and he wouldn't be now.
• Of course not.
• No. Not only that but he would not be allowed to go to school or most other public places.
• I have a feeling he would be stoned to death in the streets the way people doubt his existance today.
• Some would, most would not. I read a thing a week or two ago about some guy who claims to be Jesus reborn or something...he's a recovering drug addict with all sorts of issues and people are flocking to him anyway...so SOME people will accept anything.
• He would, but not by everyone. The majority probably will find him as a false, and others will believe in him and praise him.
• Few 21st century teenagers could accept a tale of heavenly parenthood, even if a mother solemnly declared this to be true. A more earthly explanation would probably remove any desire to fulfill ancient prophecies.
• I rather doubt it.
• He would not be accepted because theologians and preachers have drifted so far away from his Original Gospel, even if it was exactly the same as it was in the Sermon on the Mount. (read about the difference between the Original Kingdom Gospel and the gospel we hear these days... http://gospelenigma.com ) His Original formula for salvation: "Forgive others and God will forgive you." And likewise "Judge not, lest ye be judged..." would be rejected because people want to post the 10 commandments and use it to judge others. So people have settled into what they want to believe and they will reject the original message as they did the last time.
• nah , you must be kidding. look at the mess the world is in today , people who don't really understand the facts ask why isn't god doing any think to help this world become more peaceful or better so if Jesus was to " reappear " i think the people would kill him! but then again Jesus came to earth to be killed , to take away our sins!
• no, but he'd be my saviour if he could build me a shed for my garden tools & such
• No he wouldn't. In fact alot of people would disagree with what he would say. Alot of people oppress one group or another whether they actually believe it. They will deny it but they do it at least once in their life. Now if Jesus was to come into the picture now and try to get everyone to play nice everyone would merely consider him to be a gay rod, a sissy, a weaklink, etc.
• No. DNA testing would prove his parentage. The whole "but I'm a pregnant virgin" thing wouldn't work today.
• Slap his forehead and tell the "Christians" that they have totally misunderstood and distorted his teachings.
• Laugh at all the douchebaggery done in his name.
• JESUS IS COMING! And boy, is he pissed! Tee-shirt and bumper-sticker wisdom that should cause everyone to ponder his arrival. ;-) I'm thinking that he would destroy ALL current forms of government, due to the inherent corruption in all of them, including our own.
• Yell 'oy vey!' and then set about sorting us all out
• Heal today's lepers - straight down the AIDs clinic, then.
• I'm guessing your referring to the Jesus character from the bible. Hell no, if he was born in the US or Europe he would be called a Communist/Terrorist by the government and an Anti-Christ by the Church. They would probably put him in Guantanamo or some other torture capm and force some crazy confessions out of him before they killed him, just to show him who's the boss. Then he would fly up to his spaceship thats orbiting earth, and have god (who's actually Jesus) flood the planet by melting the arctic icecaps. Then they would tell a few people to build boats and fill them with animals.
• He was not accepted as such the first time around... Many great spiritual entities are, at best, not "accepted" as such and, at worst, murdered.
• well frist of all if you know old testment prophies of the messhia, then you would never ask this question, beccause the messhia had to be cruscfied. Zechariah 12:10 (NIV) "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. Psalms 22:16 (NIV) Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet. this could only happen in they years that the romans used cruffiction as an exucion so the ancer would be no beacus of this, God knew the right time to send Jesus so all the propheices could be forfilled
• Jesus would be called a far-left radical today. Irony much?
• He was not back then and probably now. He is who he is. He will always try to gain the hearts of people no matter what time he would be in. He came to save not be accepted by society.
• Let's see - correlating relatives lets say he was born in an occupied country where the indigenous population is displaced, like Australia. Aboriginal but living in Sydney, say Redfern. He scrubs up and looks professional when he needs to, maybe he's a school teacher. Would you accept him as a Saviour? And what would he be saving you from again?
• Sure if He drove a BMW that was solar powered or something, stood for saving the planet from "global warming", had a hot babe next to Him on the seat, drank THE right beer, smoked THEE right cigarettes, endorsed the RIGHT candidate for president, lived in THEE RIGHT neighborhood, was intolerent to all other ideas but His own, was a vegetarian, marched in all THE RIGHT peace rallies, listened to THEE RIGHT tunes on His iPOD, carried a cool looking MAC laptop with Him everywhere...get the picture? instead...... Jesus was born during the "fullness of time" the Bible states, that means He was born at THE RIGHT time, and THE RIGHT place where He could preach the good news, to THE RIGHT people for 3 years, and then die for your sins.
• no, only by a few. now days it is very hard to get out to the masses only cus there is so many doing it allready, people know this and it is hard for them to know if the guy is the real deal. they will allways suspect fraud and will not be very convinced no matter what kind of miracle the messiah would do.
• No it would be the same thing that was about 2000 years ago.
• No. He'd probably become a televangelist and get locked up for fraud, +5
• No. CNN would have video footage from a helicopter showing "some guy" in L.A. clearing the money exchangers out of the church.
• <Pfft> Jesus is old news. CM Punk is the choice of a new generation.
