Welll.... The HP 2140 is a solid product and it has a couple of features I wish my Acer Aspire One had, but it also has a couple of minuses that others may find acceptable but make me think, based on my needs and preferences, that I made the right decision... for me. Others complain about the smallish keyboard on my AA1 and the HP does have a larger one that others may find more comfortable. Personally, I prefer the smaller one myself and wish I could get one this size for my desktop system. Some complain that boththe HP and my AA1 have the mouse buttons on either side of the trackpad. I don't know about the HP, but my AA1 is configured such that I never use them, though I did have to make a couple of Control Panel adjustments and learn a couple of gestures to pull that off. Maybe the right edge of the HP's trackpad can operate as a scroll-wheel like mine does; I don't know. Regardless, I haven't had ANY issues with the button arrangement The HP is built a little more solidly but has lower benchmark scores than mine, and I don't know if that is worth the big difference in price. Besides, it's not like mine is flimsy; it's actually rather tough. It's just that my case is (good) plastic and not metal. Some have complained about the fan noise of the AA1 but that must have been on early models as even my sensitive ears haven't had an issue. The one downside to the AA1 is the speakers, but I think that the $100 you save could get a decent set of ear-buds ;)
