Yep! First tried a po' boy at a restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, SC (across the bridge from Charleston). Mighty fine!

I have heard of two different meaning to the same name and had both. Po'boy as in the sandwich and Po'boy as in the bean soup. Of course the soup also went by the name as hobo pork and beans. Which was nothing but white navy beans with ketchup mixed in and warmed over an open fire.

When I was a child, we used to live near a restaurant by that name. They sold sandwiches very similar to the Subway of today.

Oh yes, spent a lot of time in La. working over the years, they can make the best. Oyster po'boy is my thing!
