  • It doesn't matter the egg is infertile, but it won't harm the bird if you remove it!
  • I don't know parrots very well but domestic fowl like chickens lay eggs all the time and they are removed for sale with no bad effects whether they be fertile or not. If they are not fertile removing them will prevent them from spoiling.
  • remove it (it can go over) and watch her for a condition called "egg bound". The eggs produce, then don't come out. It is fatal. Just keep your eye on her and try not to encourage nesting behavior. Remove nest box (if any), remove paper (if she shreds to nest) take away "love toys" (you probably know what I mean)
  • I wouldn't be in too big a rush to remove it. See if she lays more and goes to setting on them. Then after a time, remove the eggs. If you remove them too quick, she might just keep laying to try to get a clutch of eggs to her liking. This would deplete her calcium levels quickly. If you choose to remove the eggs, it helps if you place her in a darker room, cover her cage for more hours, less light turns off a bird's reproduction feelings. And if you can place the cage in a different spot, anything to make her feel less broody.
  • That depends on many thing. First of all-Do you use electric of a gas range?
  • Please don't remove the egg. Most birds will only be encouraged to keep laying eggs to replace the ones removed. This will exhaust her which is not healthy for her. Let her sit on the egg until she becomes bored with it & realizes it won't hatch. Then you can remove it safely. www.eclectusparrots.net
  • Do you have the male? If you want breed them replace the egg with a fake one purchased at a pet shop. It will be good practice for her for the next time if you want her to nest. If not just toss it. It wont hurt her.
