  • I think it's cute, sort of. I would've done the same back then, had I had the balls to show affection
  • Sometimes children do like each other at that age - there is a lot of pressure (from tv, magazines, society in general) to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. And seeing valentine's cards etc everywhere must only encourage children into this. However I have seen children in boyfriend/girlfriend situations at that age and upwards, and believe me, it is all very innocent. One of the funniest evenings of the year in school is the year 7 disco (11/12 year olds). It is important for some to have a boy/girlfriend for this event. However, all that means is that the boys and girls will occasionally say acknowledge each other's presence during the evening - usually, the girls are busy together, dancing and so on, and the boys are running around using up energy. Finally, the girls manage to grab their boys and persuade the to dahce - but then comes the 'slow song'. Whoosh!!! All the boys disappear from the dance floor and the girls are left wondering what has just happened!
  • Aww sweet. All he knows is that he has a crush on her, that she is beautiful. I think that's very, very charming, he's going to grow up to be brave and demonstrative and probably quite a catch, and she is always, always going to remain his first innocent crush. Wow. Lucky little girl.
  • My nephew is 9 and has the biggest crush on a girl at school. It seems pretty normal to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about. (not until they want to be alone in a room!) lol It's Valentines Day...let them feel special. It's probably something she is going to remember 10 years from now.
  • i think your dumb for thinking it could be a problem... shes a kid and kids like eachother from even younger. come on remember wenyou were in school?
  • I liked girls at that age, and I think it is very sweet. I wouldn't worry about it at all, and enjoy it, because you still have 5 years before you need to worry.
  • I think it's fairly harmless. My nephew had a "girlfriend" when he was like 4-5 years old, wanted to marry her...gave her a ring and everything. It's cute.
  • My son started walking his 'girlfriend' home from school when they were in kindergarten. It's harmless mimicking at this age. They see the grown ups who are in love doing it and they want the person they 'love' to be treated just as nice.
  • I rememeber a boy kissing me on the cheek a few times when I was 7. It is harmless.
