Usually people are puzzled by the events in their life time. How they cope or relate to those events may be different for different sort of personalities. As for me I sense, percieve and I'm intuitive by nature..so I usually try to find meaning within and externally. But telling myself to be detached from what I have may not work for me..NOT that it is wrong. Different strokes for different folks. But yes I do get a balance somewhat like what you'er doing..but in a different way.
