Our PS2 plays some PS2 disks but not others. I've exhausted Sony's troubleshooting documentation; what else can I try?

try getting a laser cleaning disc (usually found in wal*mart or any electronic/cd store) play that in the system for a while. it could be that something is blurring the laser from reading the discs. also make sure the discs you are playing are scratch free, normally when you wipe it you should be wiping it from the middle , then wipe down and out, does that make sense? i'm sure you;ve already tried resetting it. hope it helps.
