No way- men are far more aggresive
-
no they are not worse drivers. men and women are both good and bad drivers it doesnt come down to being a man or a woman i think its the individual themselves.
-
No. Gender has no bearing on such a thing. There are poorly skilled women and men driving on the road, likewise there are plenty of capable female and male drivers as well.
-
We take longer to past our tests compared to men statistically. BUT statically we are also better drivers as we have less accidents.
-
I think it is pretty even. We all have the same driving handicap - the cell phone.

There have been many studies about this. I know that males have higher insurance rates. Since insurance rates are based on the probability of getting into an accident, I would guess that males get into more accidents. On insurance.com, I found this: "The only time gender has a bearing on car insurance rates involves young drivers, says Carolyn Gorman, vice president of the Washington, D.C. office of the Insurance Information Institute." It continues: "'This is due to the fact that men typically drive more miles and exhibit often risky driving practices such as driving while intoxicated, not wearing a seatbelt and speeding,' said Lehman." Yaerd.org says: "Male drivers involved in fatal motor vehicle crashes are almost twice as likelyas female drivers to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08% or greater (NHTSA 2004b)." So, it seems that men might be as good or even better drivers than women, but they are more often drunk or otherwise intoxicated.

Loads of studies have shown that women have fewer accidents than men. In my experiences, however, I think most people think they're better drivers than they actually are.

It depends on the situation. In normal circumstances, women are less aggressive and more cautious so they have less accidents on average. However my personal experience is that women are less likely to remember how big their vehicle is. Many women backing an SUV out of a parking space will either not check their mirror or not know what that small lump on the ground behind them is. My wife is the opposite; there is never enough space even if she is driving a golf cart in an open field. Females don't judge spatial relationships as well on average. As for emergency situations (skids), it's mixed. Some (my wife) will sit there and try to remember what they learned in Driver's Ed, slam the brakes and freeze up. Not good if you're still moving. My mother also over-analyzes, but she is quick enough on her feet that she reacts before she hits oncoming traffic or slides off the road. But that's my personal observations and not enough data for a statistical fact.

Women are statistically better drivers than men . At least according to Insurance companies and accident reports.

I think allot of it has to do with real like situations that make them more crazy then usual.lol

Gosh this question could start a war. I think I'm a good driver. I'm 21, female and I have done the majority of the driving between my friends and boyfriends. I have a tendency to want to drive even if I have a boyfriend that has a car. No I'm not a control freak but rather I like to drive and will simply do it not to piss him off or anything and most of my boyfriends have liked the fact I will ferry them around. I have owned two cars. My first was a 1999 Camaro which I drove from SJC to Michigan when I was 16. No tickets, no accidents. But I got broadsided by a surburban that ran a stop light. Suburban versus Camaro = Camaro loser. I bought a Mustang GT and have had no accidents. Only minor damage like I slid down hill on ice into a snow pile and broke off my little front spoiler. Little things like that. I'm safe, I do like to drive fast but I pay attention. So whether or not I'm a better driver than a man, I don't know. I think I'd have to be tested somehow.

sadly, yes. they are generally mindless of the fact they are moving a couple of tons of steel around on the road and all the physics that go along with such mass. they are contemptuous of the rules of the road, the most important being respect for the left lane. this in and of itself is the major cause of so-called road rage. they seem to feel the reason we drive is to talk on the phone. of course women can multi-task. however performing several tasks at once generally means you are not doing them all very well. in the end, i strongly believe that women are the cause of many accidents and in many cases this is unbeknownst even to them! they simply drive on, ignorant of the havoc they have wrought.

Yes, women need more driving lessons.
