Why does the earth rotate the way it does? Why doesn't it rotate the OTHER way?

Read an astronomy textbook for gods sake! But anyway its because of the earths initial beginning that caused it to move in that way (big bang theory) The planets inertia and gravitational pull of the sun causes it to stay rolling that way.

I think it is because earth colided with a proto planet and imparted a spin on us,as well as a wobble, the the ejecta became our moon
