  • Apparently not.
  • I've wondered about this, too. The teachings I follow say that we are born in each gender many times. They also say that both heterosexuality and homosexuality are unbalanced, and that both energies flow through everyone. These things lead me to infer that the soul has no inherent gender. Yet, experience suggests that, at least occasionally, one's gender and physical body-type don't "match." What can this mean? I remember reading one case history (acquired via hypnosis) where the soul had a choice whether or not to incarnate as a gay man. I speculate that sometimes other lives we've lived exert a pull on us. Perhaps we have happy soul-memories of lives spent as the other gender, or perhaps we've simply spent more time as the other gender and it feels more natural. I know it's probably an unpopular view, but I believe we are born as we are for a reason. I believe we select how we will manifest on this earth - gender, health, etc. - and that we do so in order to learn specific things. It is difficult for me to accept that we are born in one gender only to have reassignment surgery. Nevertheless, I don't condemn those who do; I haven't lived in their shoes. Maybe the soul is like a sub-atomic particle, eh? It may acquire certain "spins." I once read a case history attesting to an interest in music that transcended lifetimes; why not sexuality and gender, as well? Food for thought.
  • No, for me it is just pure eenrgy.
