  • Yarnlady would be the one to talk to. If I see her I will direct her your way.
  • There are several helpful "How to Videos" at the bottom of the page, click on the link, then type "knit" in the search box. Watch all of them, and practice along. You will improve in no time. To start out, do some practice pieces which you can later use as coasters. You don't need to start right out with a project, until you feel comfortable with the process.
  • Look what I found. It might be helpful.
  • Hey. Knit on circular needles, don't need to knit in a circle to to use them, I'm going to exchange all my regular needles for circulars.
  • www.knittinghelp.com has a bunch of very useful videos. Aside from that, I can give you two bits of advice. If your yarn has some stretch, just pull the stitches further down the needle. I also keep one finger on my completed stitches. YMMV on that one - how well it works depends on your knitting style.
  • Several suggestions from a fellow knitting student: 1. Start with learning the stitches on a small swatch. You can find a use for your swatch later. You can save yourself much frustration by setting aside that sweater project until you get comfortable with your "sticks". 2. Visit a yarn shop. They offer classes and employ knitters. 3. Visit www.ravelry.com for another option of a community of knitters and crocheters who are happy to help. 4. Think about valuing the journey as much as the finished product. 5. If knitting isn't your "thing" afterall, consider another yarn "sport" such as crochet, finger-knitting, or even loom weaving. There are many yarn arts to explore. I started with crochet--it's a lot less disciplined than trying to keep your stitches on your sticks. :-)
