  • I haven't found any sites that don't use the abbreviations, but I have this book that's not expensive which I used to teach myself how to knit. It's called Knitting Pretty by Kris Percival. It uses no abbreviations and it has simple, practical projects you can start off with. Here is a link that has a few simple projects from the book, as well as some images. http://www.chroniclebooks.com/Chronicle/excerpt/0811835332-e0.html If you're a beginner though, I'd recommend getting the book so you can learn the basics first. I'm an avid knitter and you can email me if you have any questions! Just ask!
