The meaning of slavery has changed in 2,000 years. Slavery in Jesus time was not race based, it was not for life, it was not inheritable. You would probably call it indenture. It was for payment of a debt or punishment of a crime. When the debt was paid, you were free. The slavery that Lincoln abolished in no way resembled the slavery in the Bible.

God wants us to be humble and Jesus is a part of God. But not being humble is not a deathly sin , so no he will not go to hell and no one that feels bad about their sin goes to hell plus God forgives all sins that are not deadly .

If I'm not mistaken it was Paul, not Jesus, who told slaves to serve their masters as they serve God.

If you work for an employer... you're the slave and he's the master. Not much has changed in 2000+ years.

I'm sorry, but I just can't quite stomach playing along with this one. It's just too asinine. Troll again later but try to be more clever next time.

Slavery has become a thing of taboo in our time. In the Bible, it was more of a servantry than anything else. You see slave in a passage and many are already reading their own thoughts into the Scripture, and not letting the Bible speak for Itself. Slavery in the Old Testament was a program where the master gave someone a job and a home, and even a wife, and the possibility of children, all within more than reasonable living conditions. It must be said that slavery was only promoted in its purest form, meaning the master had the best intentions and best character. This is the case with Christians and God, for He is our Master, and we are servants, performing our reasonable service, knowing full and well what we deserved and where we were when He found us.

rcasha, the Bible was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Paul only wrote what the Spirit instructed him to write. If you don't believe that, then you must not believe what God Himself has said about His Book.
