In the United States, yes. In Germany and some other nations in Europe and Asia, often the answer is no. A lot of names we think of as being one gender or the other actually are used by both: Leslie Marion/Marian (John Wayne's real name) Jean Bobby Michael Marie (especially as a middle name in Cajun or French families) and so on. There have been legal complaints in the United States when parents tried to give their children numbers instead of names, and when they tried to give them brand names for first names. The parents usually win these disputes; it's a free country, and parenthood is a "fundamental right" under the U.S. Constitution, meaning it has the highest protection of all rights. Choosing a child's name is a key part of parenthood. The government would have to come up with a much better reason than "the child will get teased" in order to win against the parents. The child can change their name legally as soon as they turn 18, or they can request a name change during a divorce if their parents get divorced before then. Most judges will listen carefully to the child's reasons.

yeah is possible, i have a boys name.. its really denny..but i use jennifer because its my second name and cuz most people think im a boy.

You can name your child anything you like just look at some of the names the 60s and 70s stars gave their children As for male/female John Wayne -----real name Marian, and the names Sydney and Michael are often used for girls

My daughters name is Rikki yeah spelled like a girl but to talk about her they think I am talking about a boy and my sister named her son Jesse so thing applies.

YES IT IS POSSIBLE....I'VE MET ALOT OF GUYS NAMES MARIA. I AM SURE YOU HAVE HEARD OF A GUY NAMED ASHLEY...THERE ARE MANY MORE AND YES IT IS LEGAL.

You can name your child anything you want but chances are when they grow older they'll want to change it so why bother?
