  • I think we have all experienced that Staffie. Dreams are very emotional, and as we know, what bothers us during the day, surfaces at night, causing symbolic dreams. If your mood is down and sad, and then you have a dream you can certainly wake up crying. I have done that, and also have woken up laughing. Its just the mind playing tricks
  • Yes, this has happened to me, but mostly when I was younger (ie a child). I also wake up laughing. But I have no idea why this happens.
  • I have certainly had dreams where I wake up crying. Usually the dreams are about someone in my family being hurt or someone that I love leaving me, it feels so real in the dream, and feels real for a bit after waking - I usually feel disturbed and upset for a while. It seems to happen at emotional times for me.
  • Yes I dream and wake crying, Unhappiness , loss or just sleep allowing us the freedom of our release of emotion that we hold onto when waking
  • I have in the past but it doesn't really happen much now.
  • Dreams are complicated things made even more complicated by our inability to remember them concretely. On one hand, they are known to be the jumbling and chaotic noise to your brain resetting after a long day of experiences. They mean nothing, but occasionally, out of the randomness, appears images that we can comprehend and assign significance to. These are the dreams we seem to remember--but are merely afterimages of the thoughts lingering in the mind. On the other hand, dreams can be a very real look into our own psyche. They are VERY significant in this way, because the brain can sometimes choose to cope with difficult issues by releasing the tension during sleep. If you are particularly worried about something, or if something is bothering you even though you may be consciously unaware of it, then it will work its way some how into your dreams. It may be a memorable dream, or it may be just a release of emotion with no symbols attached. There are two ways to deal with this. The feasibility of either depends on your situation. If you know the cause and are able to eliminate or mitigate it, then doing so will help. If you do not know the cause, there are methods whereby you can achieve either lucid dreaming, or at least suppress the effects. I encourage you to search the internet for these methods. Finally, you may wish to consult a doctor. If you suppress your dreams and it turns out that this was the only way you could cope with your problems, then you may suffer other serious mental repercussions.
  • I've woken up crying only once, and I can't even explain why I did. I dreamt of an actress who was staying in her house, I guess she had been so nice in my dream that when I woke up and found out it wasn't real, I just started crying. I know. Weird.
  • depends, what do you dream about, why do you cry?
  • It could be a premonition, depends on the dream.
  • Yes, I do this a lot. Either from having a very sad or frustrating dream or from having a really good dream and crying from the loss of it as it slowly fades.
  • I have woken feeling upset, stressed or with the major feeling of anger towards someone, I cant work out why for a while, can even be off with the person that caused the upset in the dream, it hits me that it was a dream but some reason I feel anxious for the rest of the day without knowing why...wierd or what!
  • I had the strangest and most vivid dream I have ever had last night. I dreamed that my dad was on death row for bank robbery in nottingham. I knew this was not true as my dad is terminally ill and wouldnt be able to do such a thing, im my dream I kept saying to myself, if I could only have another few minuets with him, I was crying so hard in my dream. The surreal thing is that my dad and I are no longer on speaking terms due to personal reasons and he really is terminally ill. I woke up crying, had to go downstairs incase I woke my husband, I cryed for half an hour and I have been sad all day!! How weird is that
