Is there too much whining on Answerbag about downratings? Should those who get a -ve rating just accept that somebody didn't like their answer and get on with their life?

There is some whining about it, however some of it is justifiable. If you answered an opinion question you should not get downrated for your opinion. If someone disagress with you they should just ignore it and go on. The only time I think someone should get downrated is if they gave an offensive answer or some truly bad advice that could potentially cause someone to go out and harm themselves or others.

With realy is no wrong answer unless in a nonsence anwser. Its there own opion. When you down you should tell them why on a comment.

No because sometimes people literally just come in a downrate answers cause they don't like you or something else. I once saw an entire question where every answer was downrated and they where good answers and where diverse in opinions. Someone trolled the question to where all they did was click on the question and downrate every answer in there.
