If someone can consume cannabis and still win 14 gold medals I think we need to re:legalize marijuana. "Olympic Champion Michael Phelps, who vaulted to international stardom during the 2008 Summer Olympics by winning a record eight gold medals in swimming, has been caught in a very compromising position, according to a report by the British paper News of the World." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/31/michael-phelps-bong-pictu_n_162842.html http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/150832/14-times-Olympic-gold-medal-winner-Michael-Phelps-caught-with-bong-cannabis-pipe.html

Don't bogart the bong, man. 2012 is coming.

Maybe he wasn't using it to enhance his performance and maybe he wasn't using it. and if he was, who cares (apart from the legal system)?
-
I really don't care, his performance should be shutting people's mouths. The situation would be different if he came back with no gold medals. Plus....who wouldn't want a break after working so hard? He trained for the Olympics and now that is over, what else do you want him to do? I wasn't pointing those questions at you by the way.

Didn't they try to take away some snowboarder's gold medal for testing positive for cannabis?

I don't know what the purpose of pot is, never having smoked it. What is its unique purpose, benefit and value? Thank you.
