I'm 20 and my older friend(45 years old) told me to transfer my car's title to his name, so I can get much cheaper car insurance, should I do it and is it illegal?

I wouldn't do it. I had my water bill in a very good friend's name and when she got mad at me, she just turned off my water. I also put a car in an ex-boyfriend's name for cheaper car insurance, and he took off with it when he left me. I had no legal standing to get it back. You don't want to put yourself in a position where you need to keep somebody in your life because of what they are doing for you or because of what they could do "to you".

1. It's insurance fraud and a felony. 2. If you transfer the title, the car legally becomes your friend's car. Overall, not a good move.
