  • Warn your parents that you are going to pick some place in town for your Birthday dinner. So they can be ready. That's our tradition. Pick what you want and Dad (me) buys but be prepaired to be embarrassed because I give the waiter extra for special humiliation. It's dutch if anybody else wants to come. On my birthday I pick they (three of them) pay and get their payback. You can do that or pick someplace that you like to go, a movie or play for instance. You can gather at your house with just the most special ones. It's your BIRTHDAY so think outside the box...or bag as the case may be. The Mexican/Hispanic people here have a quiensenyara's for a 15 yo girl. It's a whopper of a party that everybody dresses up for especially the 15 yo and they cater it and have Mariachis and dance and all the grown up men get drunk and the wives sit around and shake their heads in embarrasment at their husbands making asses of them selves. They really are fun though. (Please pardon the spelling I'm not a spanish speaker)
  • Have a "volunteer" party, and invite all your guests to join you in a volunteer activity such as working at the food bank. For volunteer opportunities in your area, choose from this list: http://www.volunteermatch.org/ http://www.volunteer.gov/gov/ http://www.networkforgood.org/volunteer/
