Instead of trying to do this for your child, try barnstorming with them.

What are everyday problems that you face in your home, in your yard, during recreation?

One child thought of a 'gripper' that he could squeeze to reach cans on the top shelf in the pantry. Another thought of a 'burgler alarm' in the cookie jar.

One girl thought of taking the 'corkscrew' that held the chain for the dogs into the ground to the BEACH, and taking the chain off and using a thin, lightweight line instead attached to a LIFE JACKET, so kids could never get sucked out in an undertow.

There are many other ideas you both can come up with if you allow the natural imagination of a child to run wild a bit!

Just 'prod' them a bit, and you may find it is like priming the pump with the old fashioned pump handles; the ideas will soon pour forth like water from the pump.

I will accept royalties please: An electronic dictonary that resembles a cell phone. You type in a word, and presto, you have every definiton, synonym, antonym, a complete history of the word, and pronunciation. It will be able to disply in every language, and will even pronounce it for you at the push of a button.
