  • These are some of the prophetic details about the crucifixion, predicted 1000 years before his birth and 400 years before the invention of the crucifixion: Psalm 118:26 Came in the name of the LORD Psalm 8:2 Praised by the children Psalm 22:7,8 Laughed at by his enemies Psalm 22:16, Luke 23:33; 24:38-40 Pierced in hands and feet Isa. 50:6 His back was be beaten Psalm 22:18; Psalm 22:18; John 19:23-2 Others would compete for his clothes/cast lots for his garments Psalm 34:20; John 19:33-36 Legs and none of his bones are broken Psalm 35:10 Accused by false witnesses Psalm 35:19 Hated without cause Psalm 40:7,8 Rejoiced fulfilling GOD's will Psalm 41:9 Betrayed by a friend Zechariah 11:12; Matthew 26:15 Price for His betrayal was 30 pieces of silver Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60 Buried with the wealthy (a crucified person normally was not given a burial; the body was left to rot or be devoured by animals) Psalm 69:21 Given vinegar with honey Psalm 109:4 Prayed for his enemies Psalm 109:8 The punishment of the one who betrayed him
  • How do you know his birthday? Do you have a birth certificate? If so, how come Christians then had to kill the Pagans and steal their holiday so they could make it Jesus' birthday cause they didn't even know when that was? Sheesh...so many questions, so little time...
  • It's a remarkable example of long-range planning
  • This is simply preaching again. It's not really a question. You've copied a few things from a Sunday school lesson manual that may shock, awe and amaze the credulous, but it doesn't stand up to examination and does not aid your argument that Jesus was real to anyone but the choir you're preaching to. You have no actual evidence that a person named Jesus actually existed. The books written about him were all written by people who never met him and they were written to conform to and fulfill prophecy from the old testament. Given that the new testament authors got to write the stories of Jesus long after the prophecies were recorded and they had hundreds of years to massage them and change them to conform to their beliefs, it's amazing how much they missed, got wrong altogether and how they contradicted each other. None of these claims stand up to scrutiny. And the fearful down rate. Thanks for showing your lack of faith and fear of evidence :)
  • First of all, what precise details?? Every prophet claimed to come in the name of God. Jesus was not particularly praised by children. Everyone laughs at enemies. Everyone gets hated without cause at some point. He was not given vinegar with honey, etc. . Secondly, do you realise that the accounts of his crucifixion were written after the said prophecies, by people who were reasonably familiar with them? It would be the easiest thing in the world for one of the authors to write that Judas received 30 pieces of silver, whether or not Judas received anything at all. Who would contradict them? Certainly not Judas. And in fact since the gospels were written far away from where the events took place, several decades later, it would be difficult for anyone to confirm any details. They couldn't just pick up a phone and ask the Romans whether they had really cast lots over who would get his garments, or indeed why a Roman soldier would want dirty, torn and blood-soaked clothes.
  • I would say that it is easy for the details to line up when the ones writing his biography have access to the predictions.
  • Christians call this prophecy and it is inspired by God, the Holy Spirit. We believe the entire Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit including hundreds of prophecies about Jesus Christ. With love in Christ.
  • Because all of those verses were compiled and translated by the same people with the same intent. I'm sure there were several other psalms and other books revered by the Jewish people that never made it into the Bible because the early Church found them to be contradictory to what happened.
  • by God's Power and Will... the cross ,means of death, crucifixion is not told in Old Testament prophecy.., just what would happen to HIM ...i can honestly say , HE knew HE would give HIS life, but the exact details of HIS death (on a cross) were speculation to HIM until the last minute ... Genesis 3 the seed of woman , Jesus, through the Judah /Davidic line.the beginning:)justme
