I think it depends more on the person's mental age. I work with many people older than myself, but I only get along with half of them because half of them act like adults. The other half like to gossip, cause trouble, and act really juvenile sometimes. Same goes with people my age and younger. I have met some really mature 15 year olds that have it more together than many 30 year olds I know.

Younger people tend to be drawn to me and want my attention and company, for whatever reason.
Older people like that I'm outspoken and will say what's on my mind in tune to a heartbeat. I guess it depends, but I'd prefer the older group. This way I can learn something and not have to answer the never-ending "WHY" question that the younger crowd seems to live by.

It depends upon the person. I have friends across the board...from the 14 yr old boy from across the street, to the 86 year old man with one leg and dancing fingers on his keyboard on a daily basis...my partner keeps his computer up and running and we take him home cooked goodies.

With the exceptions of my younger sister, three close friends from HS who are my age, and the two kids I take care of (I'm a nanny), I generally do better with people older than me; not sure why it is, but it has always seemed to be the case for me.

EDIT: and I suppose I'm good with small children. once they stop being cute and getting oppinions and telling me i'm stupid and they no longer appreciate me...

I generally get along with people older.
When I was 10 I would join in conversations with my mum & her friends rather than hang out with all their kids lol.
Even these days I'm still like that but since I'm older it doesn't seem so 'odd' anymore (people always used to comment that I never did anything with other kids & thought it was weird).

I find i get along with people who are older. Mst of the time, because they are most mature and gone threw more in there life. Its also nice because you could learn alot from older people, because some of them could of gone threw the same things your going threw and then they could teach you to enter a postive drection by tellin them there faults and then they could make you not go threw the same mistakes they did.

I am good friends with people younger than me ie (11 with me being 16) and much older than me (me being 16 and them 40+), and all that is needed for this is an acceptance that different aged people will want to do different things, and a good sense of fun!

I get along with most people in general. Depending on the moood i'm in, I like to be around people my age when I just feel like hanging out. Once in a while an interesting conversation will arise but seldom are to my interest. In that aspect I prefer to talk to older people, when I want to get an insight on life. I really like to listen to others experiences. But it's true that some older people tend to be immature and gossip, I can't stand that. Or when older people, and I especially notice this in women, think that they are so above you because they're older. But thats only a few ignorant people.

I'm good with everybody. But I'd say younger. I'm single no kids....and my lifestyle more closely resembles a younger person's. I have few obligations to others, my time is my own...so I think that'd translate to someone who has more in common with younger folks. (I'm old, of course)

As a kid, one of my best friends was an 83 year old Woman. She told me about her life and I found it amazing and incredible.
I still remember the story of how a bee was on her apple so she thought she'd be smart and bit it! The bee stung her inside her mouth and got away.
Mary was the coolest! My friendships have continued to be with older folks. I think they have a lot to offer...if we just listen to them.

For the most part people that are older than me. I have not been able to relate with people younger than me..and alot of times people my own age. This may be because of the responsibilities placed on me in a younger age
