Why wasn't the bible written in plain language so that the rest of the world could understand it better? I mean did the people of the era really talk the way the bible is written?

If they tried to translate it into modern english, there would be a never-ending furor over correct interpretations, which parts should be taken literally, etc.

I'm sure the Church sees the benefit in keeping it good and ambiguous, so they don't have to talk about the more evil parts (i.e. most of Leviticus) in words that most people can understand.

Which translation of the Bible are you talking about? And what language? The language of the King James version of the Bible IS in the English of the time it was written. Modern translations into English are in the English spoken in OUR time. Other nationalities have their own translations as well into the languages of their peoples. Unless you are very conversant with ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, your native tongue is as plain as it's gonna get.

Because if it was written clearly- it would make little sense- the old time langauge makes it easier to accept- in other words its all bullshit and they really dont want u to understand it fully cause u might figure it out ( that its total bullshit).

The Old Testament..which is pretty old was originally written in Hebrew..and Hebrew is one of the oldest languages. It is possible that people spoke like that..but not everyone knew how to read or write Hebrew.

Some of the original Talmud was written in ancient Hebrew.
Most of the later works were written in Greek.
    Some was written in Aramaic.
It was translated in the 1-3 centuries into Latin.
Martin Luther translated it into common language in 1500's.
Olde English translations were made in the 1600's.
Modern English versions came into mid 1900's.

The original language was common language of the day, and it doesn't translate well into modern languages.
Try reading Latin the way Romans actually talked with Caesar, VERY hard to understand.
