  • Yes, I think it is extremely important for everyone to know some basic self defense moves. At the very least to be aware and know what to look for.

  • Yes i agree. Any martial art will do as long as it works well and i can learn it fast .... or kinda fast.
  • Its good to know one or two "Protection" moves. Practice them until you are good and them and keep them in the bank. Trying to use a move you are not proficient at is a recepie for disaster.
  • More like self defense moves. I know a little judo (I call it that) which are self defense/avoidance moves I learned when young. A couple of times they took care of the situation very nicely.
  • No. The person most at risk is the cocky green belt. Either take self-defence seriously and work at it, and it takes years to become competent, or recognize that the only defence you have is flight or compliance.
