I don't hate America at all.
Us Brits like you a lot more than we like any of our European neighbours! Even if you did slightly ruin our language ;)
No, not all of us, europeans.
I think we sometimes don't 'get along' because the USA is a much younger country than any of the european ones and to the europeans, americans are almost like teenagers - they always have a say, and they may be or not correct, we still think they're not old enough to think by theirselves.
And also Bush used to give a very bad image...
I can't speak for all Europeans, but I certainly don't hate Americans and I don't know anybody who does. In fact the only Americans I have met have been open, friendly and cheerful - features more likely to make them liked than disliked.
I'm not impressed with the overall standard of political debate that most Americans indulge in here on Answerbag and I'm dismayed by the constant bickering between the fervently religious and fervently irreligious Americans that also happens here. However, that doesn't lead me to dislike Americans because I know that these people aren't typical.
be perfectly frank...who cares, at least IMO. If they like me I will like them, if not no big deal.
Not the ones I deal with on a daily basis...some wonder about our sanity because of the political leaders we choose, ( Bush Jr. caused a LOT of concern for them for example,), and many don't trust us because of our constant unnecessary invasions and wars we start - but by and large your average European likes your average American.
They certainly treat me well when I'm there - as do I when then they come here.
The majority of Germans really do. I was treated like an absolute sub-human in Germany, despite speaking their language, being quiet, trying to be as agreeable as possible, dressing formally, and overall not conforming to American stereotypes. It didn't matter, I was still treated like the scum on the bottom of the sea and it was made very clear to me why. Don't get me started on the French...
By the way, any European that hates American because of Bush really ought to hate Germans because of Merkel, France because of Sarkozy, etc., seeing as they have the same policies.
I am European but I can only say that I know nobody in Europe who hates the Americans.
But I just know lots of Europeans who have the strict feeling that Americans are hating us for regarding us as inferior and feeble-minded people with an inferior way of life.
Americans are used to treat Europeans in general with an extreme arrogance and scorn.
Should we say thank you for this treatment and behaviour?
No - why should we, i like the Yanks.
Nah, just the stereotypical American (the majority)are seriously ignorant. People who believe the media about 9/11 for example when I'm writing a book on it!!
Not to my knowledge, I have never heard anything bad about our US brothers/sisters apart from the usual nutters you get in every country (UK) :O)
Not that I am personally aware.
sure there probably are people who dislike us, but who cares what they think anyway? The few, the sniveling, the liberals..Sheesh!
Is America headed for our third simultaneous troop invasion in Libya? First Afghanistan, then Iraq, now Libya?

What part of the language is ruined?! The only thing which is changed for real is the accent and I find it more appealing than the British!

Use (Or lack of Use) of the letter 'U' springs to mind. Changed spellings to words like 'Aluminium'.. Stuff like that. I do like how the only part of my answer you focused on was the joke at the end..

I knew it was a joke and I didn't take it seriously. Just wanted to know exactly what you mean. Actually it would be kind of weird if I got offended by that since I'm not even American!

Fair point! I do agree with what you said though, the American accent can be alot more appealing than the British! I don't know what people see in the British accent!

British accent is too formal, I guess that's why!
