  • I'd have to hear the context... it may have been only a brief "aside" to a longer sentence or point... but I'm surprised he bothered to say it.
  • hearing some of the things he says, he is quite the pig.
  • See, this is why I like Obama. NO ONE should listen to that big tub of lard druggie. Mr. Obama and I see eye to eye about a lot.
  • How do you feel if I suggested that America should stop listening to Rush Limbaugh? It means the same but does not carry the same weight, does it? Limbaugh speaks more to himself than he realizes, and this was one of his stupid moments.
  • America should stop listening to Hussein.
  • Limbaugh thrives because people give him attention. It's appropriate for the US President to ask people not to listen to a man who is severly disturbed and toxic.
  • I know it was prefect as everyone should stop listening to that mad man!
  • I am not a fan of Limbaugh. And I understand Obama's point: Limbaugh seeks to divide, not unify. (Check out this latest gem: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_012009/content/01125109.guest.html) However, I also believe in free speech and freedom of choice. People should listen to whoever they want, even if that person is a bigoted jerk.
  • He is both right and wrong. It's stupid to tell people not to listen to him, but it's even more stupid for Republicans or anybody else to be taking Rush seriously. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. The more outrageous things he says, the more he is doing his job.He is not someone whose ideas are to be emulated. The problem is that most of the American public is too stupid to figure this out on their own.
  • I don't think he should say anything regarding a person's entertainment as long as it is legal. If the viewer is intelligent then they know what they're listening to, and if they aren't intelligent they will see it as an attack on their 'freedom fighter'.
  • It makes as much sense as Limbaugh saying that Democrats shouldn't listen to Al Gore. Or the pope saying Jews should eat more pork. Why should the Republicans listen to the head Democrat? Is Obama afraid of Limbaugh? I doubt it, but it's not his business.
  • I think Obama as the president should respect a persons freedom of speech! He took a oath to protect it! As Obama has the right to say what he did. I do not agree with Obama but I don't have to! As long as Obama does not implement the "fairness doctrine"!
  • It is the responsibility of a citizen to gather news from different sources and hear opposing viewpoints. If there weren't Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, who would keep Ted Turner honest? Ted Turner's world view should not be the world view of EVERY citizen. As a president, Obama needs to understand that this is how a democracy or republic works. It is, at its core, an adversarial system and needs to be so. If you silence one side, the nation will soon fall. I'm not asking him or anyone else to stop listening to CNN and MSNBC, just to temper it with some opposing viewpoints. Otherwise, you are letting one man tell everyone else what they should think and believe, and that is dangerous.
  • Sounds like Obama's change is against peoples 1st & 2nd amendment rigghts and I was correct he is a racist Facist and a third Bush Term. . http://www.theweek.com/article/index/92587/3/Barack_Obama_vs._Rush_Limbaugh
