That is strange. I thought there was a 255 character limit on what you could put in a link. I'll have to experiment some to see just what can and can't be done. Thanks for the link.

I believe you can just type it in, like your're going to type in a link.

You just cut and paste the link from the original page and/or the page were it's destined to be. Then submit it. ANd it turns into a link. Hopefully the one you wanted. If you did it right. ;D

My guess is this is either a bug, or the person screwed around until he figured it out (or he's written a script to do it!!) Sometimes what occurs on initial entry doesn't on edit. My second guess is that if it didn't work on the first try, he edited the question, and pasted it into the URL area. I think it should be reported to staff, because that field 1) shouldn't be that long (then again, I've found that comment fields are really longer than 1000, too), and 2) obviously, the field is not checked for "EMBED" code, at least in EDIT mode. (The same mode is how you can add more than 1000 characters in comments!)
