  • If "restore" = "reformat & reinstall-OS & your songs were stored on that same drive", then any recovery will now require both data-recovery software & some luck (hope the songs weren't overwritten during the re-install). I fear this may be your case because of the question (downloading won't recover them). I always partition HDD's before installing an OS so that songs/video's/etc can be kept on a seperate partition (that won't be overwritten by future reinstalls/upgrades). It's even better if you have a spare drive to keep them on... I only mention this because you've recently "restored" & at this point it'd be pretty easy to partition, & then reinstall. If "restore" did NOT include reformatting, it's quite possible your song files are intact. If this is the case, then I would definitely download & reinstall iTunes for a simple fix. I'm unfamiliar with Itunes, but songs purchased online might be downloaded again? Post back with OS & type of restore-method used to determine if a reformat occured. Either way, good luck!
