Definitely disgusting, but they're doing amazing things with maggots in the medical field nowadays.
although gross they do prove to be useful. They only eat things that are rotten.
Gross, but necessary for decay.
Circle of life and all that.
They have their place, but I don't like it when I come upon them by surprise.
Just doin' their part to make the world go 'round.
They perform a valuable function..
They remind me of children. Eating everything in sight and often very disgusting.
I think that's one type of baby that really isn't cute at all.
They need to eat the dead faster!!
better than modern surgery at minimizing scaring expecially from necrosis
While not my best friends and I do not want to hang out with them, they are necessary for normal decomposition and are great in the medical field eating necrotic tissue.
waste disposal units, fish bait, gangrene removers
Oh yum. Dinner.
Democrats.
They are just fly larvae, though some mistakenly call others, like mosquito and gnat larvae "maggots". They play a role in decomposition of organic waste and are even being used in the medical field, e.g., the healing of gangrene without surgery or loss of healthy tissue.
They always remind me of science class because of how in the dark ages people thought they spontaneously appeared on rotting things instead of growing from a size simply too small to see
They get into my garbage bags during the summer. They come spilling out onto the ground. It makes me gag. My husband takes out THOSE bags.
They are an amazing 'clean up' animal and really help to keep things healthy and clean, but when they are where they are not wanted, like on the rear end of a rabbit, eating it alive, I find them totally repulsive.
While not my favorite subject, they are beneficial and a necessary part of life.
disgusting, they make my skin crawl!!! eeeeeewwwwwwwwwww
pretty damn gross! ;)
A fruit fly landed on my apricot mango yogurt, and I didn't realize it was there until after I put a spoonful in mouth. Perhaps I'll die?

Very true. They can consume gangrenous flesh and aid in the healing without surgery, which can cause destruction of muscle use and cause great scarring of tissue.
