The USA is different from Europe.

Good question. Well they don't have a bunch of rednecks like we do, maybe that's part of it.

America is becoming decreasingly anti-gay....

It is not true that America is becoming increasingly anti-gay. Acceptance of homosexuality is making inroads slowly but steadily, despite entrenched opposition from a minority. The main reason America is slow to grant equality to gays is that we have a heavy burden of fundamentalist Christianity to carry around, a legacy of the country's history as a refuge for intensely religious groups like the Puritans. Many in America confuse loyalty to American values (justice, equality, freedom) with loyalty to Old Testament social mores. We'll catch up to Europe, just be patient. Plenty of good people are working on this, and we have the truth on our side.

Fundamentalist Christianity views the fight against gay recognition as a fight for survival. I said gay recognition because it’s not really our marriages that bothers them it’s our being uppidy and getting in their face. If we were content to be in the closet they would find another outlet for their wrath. Most likely each other. Religion works best with a common enemy whether it’s the Canaanites or homosexuals it doesn’t matter. BTW, the last time I checked the Pope lived in Europe and was born there.

Its the opposite. The US is becoming decreasingly anti-gay.

The "enemy" is so much stronger in America. Our country has a much higher incarceration rate, so there's allot more guys engaging in homosexual activity.

The EU is so afraid of offending people that they even offend people by doing so. E.G. recently people where told not to put Christmas decorations up as apparaently it offends non-Christians. But the fact is Europe and America are two vastly different cultures. In Europe you are pretty much forced to be kind to people.
