No - rather the opposite, given that they have given up thinking for themselves, and in view of the hypocritical behaviour of many of them.

Not higher standards. I'm always suspicious though. I've known too many religious people who put up this self-righteous, moral front only to be exposed later as being huge perverts, etc.

Generally I have lower expectations of people that I know can't deal with reality. Like children and mental patients.

Are you asking if I hold them to a higher standard? If so, definitely not. We are all capable of error. Now, self-righteous religious people I might do that with. But only because it's wicked fun to bring the spiritually arrogant down to earth.

Just the opposite. I am delighted and amazed when I get anything other than hypocrisy and self righteousness from them. And glad to report that a few delight me.

I often find religious people to be hypocrites. They think they are so self-righteous believing in religion that that absolves them of any sins they commit or questionable activities.

If you wear your religion on th outside it is more likely folks will expect you to walk the walk. I suspect those who do the walk are more likely, however to not broadcast their faith. Peoples expectations of them may be as high, but are probably less likely to be dashed.
