  • Not a thing and not a thing wrong with believing. It is a live and let live that if everyone followed we all be much happier.
  • nothing
  • nothing, unless you go to a religious school. then that could be a problem.
  • Nothing. Not believing in god is perfectly acceptable. But if you don't believe in God, there might be problems.
  • Nothing at all :)
  • There is nothing wrong with it everyone has a right to their own beliefs
  • Just the opposite. It's not possible to be really mentally healthy if one really believes against all evidence in a projection of the ego.
  • Everyone is entilted to their own opinion.
  • Nothing, stop letting religious people guilt trip you. The percentage of free thinking humans has risen drastically.
  • Not a god damn thing.
  • Well the only thing I see wrong with it... "Wrong" being a bit of a harsh word for me. Is that even scientific minded people should exhaust every avenue and leave no stone unturned in their persuit of the truths concerning anything. I think some people just give up out of dissappointment or because its easier to being that biblical text pre 10th century BCE, is near impossible to prove even though they are getting closer and closer every year with more and more artifacts and digs. I believe that it is incomplete... not so much "Wrong" as God Himself said that we are to "...Use our wisdom." and to "test the spirits." meaning that we should educate ourselves on who is telling us what and why concerning God. Its a shame to me that so many people see no value in it, no merit in it and no scientific affiliation between God and the laws of this universe. It saddens me actually and I wish that Faith and knowledge would reconcile itself back unto itself to complete the equation that science cannot and faith lacks for a lack of. But is it wrong? Not in the sense where I would ever feel I had the right to assume someone was incorrect in their beliefs. After all... Beliefs are what the entire thing is made up of.
  • Absolutely nothing - it's liberating to realise you are responsible for your own thoughts and actions.
  • Nothing at all. It is a matter of personal preference and freedom of choice. To believe or not to believe is something totally a personal matter in which no one is entitled to give an opinion. So I cannot possibly answer your question.
  • Absolutely nothing. In fact, it's a healthy thing not to have one's mind cluttered with voodoo and make belief
  • its each persons choice. Nothing is wrong if you like really high heat. I prefer worshipping my maker and some day all the complicated questions will be answered with perfect understanding.
  • Nothing, in fact, it is somewhat liberating.
  • nothing. Just, in my belief, it will come to bite you in the butt after life.
  • If there is no god, nothing. If there really is a God and He really is the King and Creator of the Universe, then you are committing treason against Him. He is a loving and forgiving God, and He doesn't want to punish you or anyone else. In fact, He sacrificed Himself to avoid punishing you or anyone else, which is far different from what most rulers do when faced with someone who had committed treason. But if you continue to refuse Him, eventually you will lock yourself on the outside, away from everything that is love and beauty. In the U.S., we are so used to doing whatever we like and no one can tell us different. We even choose our own rulers and we are free to grouse about them all we want. Parents these days are encouraged to just be really good friends with their kids. Many folks just really aren't used to not getting their own way. But if there really is a God, He gets to call the shots, not us. He has given us free will, but free will isn't without consequences. We have a right to eat at McDonald's all we want to and supersize it every time. There is no law against it. But it will still destroy our health. We have a right to refuse God too, but it will still separate us from all that is good.
  • Is it wrong not to believe in Zeus? In Mithra? Or in the other many myths throughout the years? No. If there were absolutely proof of a diety, that would be a different ballgame. But there is none.
  • Oops! Sorry, double post
  • nothing. you are free to believe in what ever you want to believe in
  • Nothing, doesnt mean the next person cant.
  • there is the possibility that you would get a pimple on the end of your nose that would never go away.
  • It's wrong because you'll have a bunch of religious people knocking your door every sunday. They are coming to spread the word of God. And they'll bore you to death =P
  • there is nothing wrong with it, i belive in god but some people are either really logical and cant get there mind around it or just choose not to
  • Guess you'll find out after you die.
  • I believe in life.
  • Nothing is wrong with not believing in god. Let me ask you a question. Would it be wrong for me to believe that Bugs Bunny created the Universe and gave me life and a purpose for that life? And would it be wrong to fight with the people that believe that Porky Pig did the same for them? I think the answer is yes for both questions. When you make some made up fantasy the most important thing in your life, youre asking for problems and causing problems. It's the 21st century, let's get past these primative thoughts and try to get some real answers using science.
  • Not having a point for existence. Not feeling a part of something greater than you. Consciousness is God. That miracle shouldn’t be ignored. If you don't think life is a complete gift as apposed to a state of total nothingness... good luck to you my friend, hope that works out for you.
  • " It's really wrong!! But I don't believe in Jesus Christ either, though!! Jesus was just a Higher Angel!! He was just a telekenetic, part human/Angel being, a Messenger!! Only difference was those mystical powers, like a magician in other words, Jesus Christ posessed, which was how, back then, he amazed, convinced and amused people!!!And then those same people took it to the books and were convinced and saw it as something phenomenal!! JESUS CHRIST SIMPLY NEVER WAS GOD AND NEVER WILL BE!!! HE WAS ONLY A MESSENGER FOR GOD!!LIKE AN ANGEL!!!"
  • That's a question only you can answer. I can't tell you if it's wrong or right like some of the people here are. By asking this question, you have obviously thought about it and it seems that you are in search for confirmation and/or someone to tell you what to do. You have to make your own choice. You have a 50 50 chance of getting it right. Not very good odds when your eternal destination is at stake.
  • It makes it tough to pray?! ;-)
  • no its not wrong, believe in want you want. i believe in a higher spirit! :)
  • It is your choice to believe or not , Comming from a christian perspective yes its wrong not to believe BUT You and God have to work that out no one can do or undo that for you . God gave free will and so what we do is our choice no one has a right to judge you on how you believe .If your wrong and don't believe then oops on you . But then again i do believe but by some chance if he isint there ( i think he is though =) ) then oops on me . Go with what your heart says to you
  • nope! do what'eva you feel like doing! [:
  • I think you don't have a soul
  • Nothing. It's generally best not to believe in things for which there is no supporting evidence like the Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, Claude- LightSpirit of BellyButton Lint, and Gods. +5
  • Nothing but you're gonna burn in hell!
  • I understand the point you are making with both questions, but I don't know how to answer either of them since they are both black and white questions. Either you believe in "god" or you don't (and I'm assuming it's the Abrahamic God we're talking about). Believe it or not, there are those of us who aren't Atheists and aren't monotheists either. And there are also those who only believe in a goddess. And then there are even those who do not have a deity, but still belong to a religion. Do we get to answer these questions? Where do we fit in? Is there a third response? I just want to know if by "god" you mean a deity or if it's "god or science".
  • What's wrong in believing?
  • In today's times - that would be scientifically incorrect ! respect !!
  • It's not about right or wrong. Don't let anyone ever tell you that. I believe in God, I'm a Christian, I'm gay and I'm so many other things. Many would say that is right and wrong all together. But I found God in my very own way. I asked, I wanted to know whether there was or wasn't a God. I come from an agnostic/atheistic background. I don't fully know if both my parents believe in a God/being at all. It's about the thought: Do you just not want to believe in a God because you think the idea is ridiculous or because of many other reasons... or can't you believe in God because there is evidence missing? Either way, you can't ever go wrong with asking honestly.
  • The only problem occurs at 3am when God arrives at your door and says "it's time to go." You murmur "but I don't believe in you..." It's sure to be awkward.... unless you wake up just then.
  • www.defineyourgod.com If you look at a lot of the answers on this site, you'll find that the majority of people are atheists. I don't think there's anything wrong with believing in a God as long as you're a good person. And morality has nothing to do with religion. Either that, or the Internet is just godless. Personally, I prefer the first idea.
  • The obvious answer any Christian would give is that he does exist and your opinion is incorrect. Which, of course, is a point on which we disagree. - Apart from that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with not believing. Don't let anyone tell you there is. Stick to your guns unless YOU change your mind for reasons that satisfy YOU.
  • Nothing. Live long and prosper.
  • The same thing thats wrong with thinking for yourself. That is a great question. Our country was founded on freedom to believe what you want to and the choice not to believe in a higher power is the same as the one to praise a god. Its your choice and people should respect some ones choice not to believe, just as you respect thier belief. Keep thinking freely man, theres nothing wrong with it. The only problem is there are too few people willing to think for themselves.
  • I have no problem with it.
  • Nothing.
  • In the mind of the person not believing in God, there's nothing wrong but are you willing to take the chance that you and your mind may be wrong? Romans 1:18-21 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened." Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
  • Churches will go broke. 1 pastor's kids will have to pay for their own tuition 2 their wives will have to buy their own homes and cadillacs 3 pastors will have to find gainful empolyment 4 Pedophile priests and other church folk will have to find a new place to hunt. 5 It's not the answer-all for life's mysteries. I respect your right to believe whatever nonsense you want. Please leave me alone to not.
  • Not that one needs to believe in the God prescribed for them by various religions. But not believing in something bigger than or outside of your own world is kind of arrogant, egocentric, and unimaginative.
  • not believing might be the best way to God.
  • The problem with-not believing(contrary to "any" belief) is that if you do not believe in God when you die you will spend eternity in hell burning in a devil's lake of fire. You are right it is your "God" given right, to choose not to believe, but If you choose not to believe you are believing a lie. A lie that will cost you your soul. God is real, he is alive, and Jesus Christ is his only son sent to earth to be born of a virgin, shed his holy blood and to be crucified on the cross. Then God raised him from the dead on the third day. He ascended up to Heaven where he is sitting at the right hand of the Father. He will be returning soon to take those who have chosen (TO BELIEVE) and to accept him as their personal Lord and Savior. He will forgive you for your sin, and give you eternal life. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.
  • I am not sure I would be able to ask or answer the question as you phrased it. Believing is a process for people who are seeking truth. Lack of belief is not necessarily fixed. Part of belief is a choice. If the choice is to close ones' mind, that is always a problem, no matter what the subject is. If the choice is to acknowledge a lack of belief and to realize that there is much that is unknown in the universe, that is just a point along a continuum and is neither right nor wrong. If I believe that a bridge of paper will hold a grown man as he crosses a river, that is either right or wrong and how I act on that belief will have consequences. If I believe that a steel bridge will not hold me as I cross the rive and there is a fireball moving towards me I will have to assess the risk. Whatever I decide to do, based upon belief, best guess, calculated risk, or whatever, will have consequences. It will not be about moral rightness and wrongness, but about core truth. No one can force you to believe anything. People can influence you positively or negatively. For instance, negative people can influence you and tempt you to decide that a glass is half empty rather than half full - but you decide or lean. The question was about God and most people who do not believe in God, but are educated people, tell me that they cannot and have no desire to prove that God does not exist. But they also believe that I cannot prove God's existence to them -- and they are right. I can, within myself, experience God myself and bear testimony to my own experience. That is what I can do. But in doing so, I pass no judgment on those who do not receive, believe, or accept that. It is not my place. I believe in God. I have many reasons for believing in God. it has made my life richer and full of purpose. I believe that for me it has made me more loving, joyful, relaxed, liberated, and tolerant of others. i know a lot of wonderful people who don't see things my way. That does not silence me and I do not wish to silence them. I respect them and they respect me. It is not about being right or wrong from a human perspective, but I strongly suspect and believe, that that there are, in this universe, some ultimate and universal truths and I further suspect that curious people will not want to close their minds to any of the possibilities.
  • I did not read all the answers/comments provided, but of those I did read there was a pattern. Freedom. I have a question that I would like to pose before I answer myself. Your question was "What is wrong with NOT believing in god". What caused you to ask that question?
  • Nothing. It's your choice. I don't advise it, but I'm not going to force you to believe as I do.
  • whats called unbleivers r in denial and this is wrong
  • believing in a satan and a wooden idol or an inert god..:0justme but what is "wrong" with believing in God...?we've got nothing to lose if it as u say,no God, no eternal life, just eternal death as the atheists...so , hey, to each his own.... at least as a believer ,we can have comfort and serenity and have a HOPE to look forward to,a PURPOSE..u have HOPE and a Purpose???...:)justme
  • There's nothing wrong with not believing in God. A person's beliefs are to themselves. Nobody can change your opinions, but people may try to get you to. God wants you to love Him, but He forgives you if you do not.
  • the question is whats wrong with believing in one? i mean god is the only reason this world have not self destruct yet. it is the good people who do believe in a god that are righteous, caring, patient and use violence as the last resort and still manage to give the world a message of hope those who dont believe in god can have all the money in the world but they are never happy because without him we are nothing and when we stop believing ask yourself why are you here? whats your purpose? than you will realize there has to be a god.
  • Becuase anything that is good...is from God. But you believe there is no God...when you die, all that good will be taken away... Leaving you with...everything, but what is good Hell = eternal seperation from God.. But he only puts people there, becuase he gives them what they have wanted their whole lives...No God
  • The judgemental looks you get from believers.
  • nothing, believe what you wish, but say the same to those who do beleive.
  • Nothing... If you can deal with the consequences. And Im not saying that as a Christian might. Im saying it from a place of understanding. Every action has an equal or opposite reaction according to science. You don't have to believe in anything. But just because you chose to believe that bridge in front of you isn't safe to tread on, and it is the one thing that can get you to the other side of a great abyss where the side you are on is crumbling fast and threatening to kill you anyway. How stupid it it to stand there and take your chances without even trying just because of circumstance and ignorance of the strength of the possible way out?
  • Because if you don't, you will be condemned to an eternity of torment and pain. You don't want that, do you? Believe in God then.
  • You answered your own question. It is wrong but you knew that already
  • In my opinion, no one has the right to impose their beliefs/non beliefs upon another. God gave mankind the option to accept Him or not as they choose. So many people have asked, "If God is loving and kind, why would He send me to hell"? He does not send people to hell, He just does not reward people who do not believe in Him with His eternal presence. Why should He? He gives those who want no God in their lives exactly what they desire after life is over...no God. It is not "wrong" for you not to believe in God...it is the choice of the individual. I choose to believe. If I am wrong, what have I lost? But if I am right, look at what I will have gained.
  • If you aren't a believer, then absolutely nothing.
  • If you will remain on earth forever and wont go back to him then there is no wrong BUT if you have to meet death one day then you must.
  • Simple, its wrong.
  • You are refusing to know your creator. God loves you, and if hurts Him when you don't love Him back. Also your life would be a lot easier when you admitted that there always was God.
  • You are persuaded by a discourse, granted by a lack of being, chanted by the man cloaked in crucified flesh.
  • After hassling you, the fundies might just kill you to 'prove' they're right, the Spanish Inquisition just one case in point! ;-)
  • After you die--depending on the arrengement you made before you die--your body is going to be either cremated or buried 6ft into the ground where eventually will decompose and there will be nothing left other than perhaps some bones. I know you already know this. However, in some strange and irrational way, you will "burn in hell" for ever, and ever as a form of a punishment--from the "good and merciful God"--for NOT believing in HIM (HER?) This is quite interesting since there will be nothing physical left to be "burned"; so I in no rational way can explain to you how this phenomenon will work. But I'm quite sure the religionists have their own theological jivery to harmonize this one away as they do with all the others strange and mysterious premises.
  • What's so wrong with loving satan?
  • Nothing
  • There's nothing wrong with it at all. Just don't bring down people who do believe in God, and vice versa.
  • I suppose this is only addressed to those that think there is - I don't. Believe as you wish. +5
  • Nothing; as long as you don't harp on the people who do believe in God.
  • Not believing that He exists? Or not believing that He will do all that He promises to do, and/or not believing that His ways are the right and best ways? With the first, what's wrong with it is that it is wrong: it's contrary to fact. But if you don't mind going through life being utterly ignorant of and blind to both ultimate and fundamental reality, like a cretin who denies music just because he's tone-deaf ... well, then suit yourself. With the latter, however, (disbelieving in God's promises and ways), that's just folly pure and simple, and it will lead to hell.

  • You won't fit in with the rest of the retards who happen to have the ability to tax you and make laws that tell you how to act.
  • No problem for others until you start convincing others to agree with your opinion.
  • No one knows for sure about the fiery type of hell. But if you don't have God in your life here on Earth, then you never will in an eternal afterlife.
  • what is right with NOT believing in God? its just one's PERSONAL right or wrong..... 'ALL were doing what was 'right' in their own eyes'
  • the ipcc is a political organization, not a scientific body it is very similar to the persecution of Gelileo, and as you say- the scientists will be vindicated your posts exhibit islamophobia back on topic- the relevance of religious actions that occurred in the past. this is relevant because not all religious people are bad. you implied that all islamic people are bad because certain high profile people in certain high profile sects have exercised violence in the name of their religion. this would mean that many other people are bad because of a small minority of people that claim to represent the same religion acted badly. time frame has nothing to do with it, as there are very few religious texts that change over time
  • you go to hell.
  • There is no illusion to hide behind from despair or when you are full of fear.
  • I think the real question is what is wrong with believing in god. the answer is everything.
  • Which god?
  • I personally do not care what other people believe, so go for it.
  • Because if God exists you would want to please Him.
  • Because if you don't believe in God, you will spend eternity in agonizing pain. Jk.
  • A good question always gets a lot of response!
  • What is wrong? Those who would otherwise have gotten monetary donations would have to work for a living, instead.
  • You have the right to NOT believe. Do I think that it's wrong NOT to believe? I feel it's truly tragic and yes, I feel it's wrong. BUT I'm not condemning...however, you miss out on SO much during your life while you are here and well, then there's the eternal part...I praise the Lord DAILY that I DO believe.
  • Absolutely nothing
  • Nothing if it's what you feel is right for you. But please don't preach it to me (and I'll do the same)
