To be honest, I think that all of the religions that worship/focus on the God of Abraham have many sexist aspects. But that's just my opinion.

I am not educated on that religion, so I am unqualified to answer. Sorry :)

Many ancient faiths and traditions are sexist. Islam, Christianity and Judaism all have some very sexist rules in their respective scriptures. In modern countries, many of these rules are ignored or replaced and there is more equality, whereas in backwards countries they are still in force. It so happens that many of these countries - like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran etc are predominantly Muslim.

its true of other religions too numerous to list.

It depends on what world view you have. You must also look at the central core of the thought. What is sexist? Is the question really about equality or about power and control? Christianity has done more for women since it conception than any other group in history (uneducated feminists would argue). But the question you ask is a fishing hook. Islam differs in it's view of women in that women are seen as property in many Islamic nations, yet not all Muslims agree with this view (so they say).
