Males: How do you feel about female police officers? Say how you honestly feel, not what is the PC thing or even right thing to say! Would you trust them to save your life in a shootout?

I think they are potentially as qualified as all other officers. It mostly depends on their training. You aren't talking about taking down a 300-lb assailant in your question, which is the only area where I feel there might be a disparity - but with a gun, it kind of evens things up. :o) Sure, a woman could shoot as well as a man. I have no problem there.

I have no problem with females being police officers.

I don't think much about it. If they're a cop they're a cop. As for defending me in a shootout, no way. But to be fair I would only ever expect a Marine male or female, to do that.

Some seem kind of butch, but other than that, I got no problems with any police officers. I only got a problem when I get caught doing something I'm not supposed to be doing.:-)

They carry pepper spray and guns, so that makes any physical strength they might lack less important. In the borough where I grew up they have a couple woman police officers. One of them was top gun in the police academy, so she is a better shot then everyone (male and female) who was in her class.

In my field, I deal with female police officers. Honestly, I can stand them, male or female. They make job of serving the public difficult. I have to help them fill out their reports half the time. A police officer has nowhere near as much education as a paramedic. Firefighters are basic medics as well. But police officers, they just annoy you really. Tickets, gotta love em eh?

Females should not be uniformed police officers. Its like my wife has told me many times, "women do not have the upper strength that men have". This is why females should not be uniformed police officers. Over the past 44 years, i have witnessed many of our female uniformed officers to be assaulted my men. in each case, the female could not subdo the criminal by herself. a male officer always came to their rescue. Place female police officers anywhere in the department, except in uniform.

I absolutely would trust a female officer to save my life. The more the better. I like the idea of tough, sexy women kicking criminals' butts. I think certain female officers look very stylish and sexy in their police department-issued full-length raincoat. Not only do attractive female police officers have brawn, but their raincoats give them a very nice fashion sense while on duty. Attractive female police officers are just plain smooth.
