I have heard of people a lot older than you starting medical school. I say go for it.

Don't think you aren't helping people as EOD. I was just an intel analyst, yeah I did some good things but I had immense respect for our EOD guys.

I know several people who started in their forties. If you still need to complete college you can start now and finish your training after 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and 5 years of residency. You will be, let's see, 37 years old and probably $250,000 to $400,000 dollars in debt by the time you get to start helping people. By the time you are 45 you will likely have been sued a couple of times and divorced because you never have any time to spend with your wife and family. Then it will be time to start dealing with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction that is so common in the medical profession due to the stress and availability of legal drugs. But by the time you are 50 or 55 your debts will finally be paid off, you will be pretty good at what you do, and you can finally settle down to practicing medicine. You won't regret it for a minute!

Have you ever considered being a physicians assistant? How about a nurse,I see quite a few male nurses these days. Both jobs pay well you'd be helping people and you'll spend 1/4-1/2 the time in school depending on your choice.Good luck on whatever you choose. There's no reason you shouldn't be a Dr.if that's what you really want to do.You are still young.Just don't look back when you are 40 & doing a job you don't really want & saying I shoulda coulda been a Doctor,PA,LPN,orRN.:0)That's what I'm doing now.I'm seriously considering LPN it's only 15 mo.& I'm pretty much guaranteed a job & I really want to help people.
