In theory, a player can win a match despite his/her opponent winning more game points. Has this situation ever occurred in a Grand Slam final?

    is it possible, yes. i'll use a best 3 of 5 match for an example. if player A wins the first 2 matches 6-4, 6-4, then loses the next two matches 6-0, 6-0, then wins the last set 6-4, then person A would have lost the total games score of 24-18 but still wins the match. im not sure if it has ever happened in a Grand Slam Final before or not, but i'm confident it has occured in a Grand Slam tournament in the prelimenary rounds.
