I don't know what the aluminum pan thing is but it is not working. Kitty litter has always worked for me. Show them once and never a problem. I would change your method.

Obviously your cat does not like the "aluminum pan" method. Cat's will not do their business if it is dirty and not clean. Would you go in the same toilet over and over without flushing it? I think not. So #1, make sure it is clean, and I agree that using litter will be the best thing to try. Cat's like to bury their waste becuase they are very clean animals. Also try a hooded litter pan because some of them like more privacy. Don't punish the cat b/c they don't like their bathroom, they will only get anxious and nervous leading to all kinds of worse behaviors.

I would definately close my bedroom door after that! Why aren't you using kitty litter? Most cats go to that instinctively.
