G'day Mirandaface, Thank you for your question. John Partridge is an English singer and dancer best known for his role in CATS. There is a Tripod page claiming that he is but that doesn't prove anything especially given that the photo is a manipulation. There is no reliable source of material to indicate whether John Partridge is or isn't gay. Sorry to disappoint, miss, but if you refer to John Partridge's interview (which he did in Berlin, so you would require translation since it's in German), he distinctly refers to having a boyfriend. At the time of this interview, he atested to the fact that he had a boyfriend of Italian descent presently living in Berlin. He has made it clear several times of his sexual orientation, saying later on in the interview that through his performance of "Rum Tum Tugger", he was hoping to be appealing to both female AND male theatre patrons, especially the males. Yes, we all know he's attractive, however this is no reason--despite your attraction--to deny one's sexual orientation. As it has been said time and time again, "Honey, all the good ones are married or gay."

When I first heard this, I was shocked too. I'm not completely positive that he is, but I too saw that interview in Berlin, understood it, and yes, he did say he had a boyfriend. Doesn't really seem possible when you see CATS, though I must saw I noticed several of the toms (males) were especially attracted to The Tugger. Irrelevant, but I was only sharing my opinion. Yes, I believe he is gay.
