Why are Jewish people generally known to be liberal?

I wouldnt say they are liberal, but they are not going to be so strict on certain things that were emphasized by christianity.

Really? Some are liberal, such as Reform Jews; some are quite strict, such as Orthodox Jews. It all depends on the sect, and of course, religiosity.
