Is there anyone here who has a real *depth* of knowledge of the English language? (and probably others too) How did you get there? Where did you study? What did you study?

All you can do is to be interested. I don't know why, but discussing and questioning grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage interested me for all my life. I don't teach anymore, but I taught grammar, spelling, pronunciation, writing, and all aspects of English for years. You just have to be into it. Or, if not, to trust that there is no way to know it all at all.
