  • there is a standard format for this that you must say i do not remember actual saying but ill try for i have been there and was crying to hard to remember this correctly. On behalf of a gratefull nation for you son/daughters sacrifice and service. I believe that is what I had heard but could be wrong and it is the hardest job and/or duty you can ever perform.
  • Well I served 2 years as an Honor Guard Soldier and at the time we said "As a represenetive of the United States Army it is my High Privlidge to present to you this flag. Let it forever serve as a symbol of our Nations Gratfull Appreciation for the distinguished to our flag and our country. Normaly I would follow that up with I am very sorry for your loss. BTW I know my spelling sucks I am tired it's 3am here
  • At the military funerals I've attended, the presenting officer said, "I present this flag to you on behalf of a grateful nation."
