I think some people have this idea that black women are stronger minded and black men can more easily step all over a white woman. That's just ignorance. They obviously don't know me. I'm one strong white woman..watch out..lol

Some folks are just in their own little worlds with their own little opinions. They label others before they even get to know them. It's something the world can live without but unfortunately it will never away. Besides, who is anybody to really judge anyone like that?

Similar to what TAP said, people will buy into any stereotype they can because it makes it easier to judge people, and people love to do some judging. Little do they know, I'm the one getting pushed in arguments and having shit thrown at me and I have never touched my wife. I wouldn't hit a woman if you paid me.

The people who say such things are the ones that are ignorant, uneducated and have some kind of a problem. To just stereotype a group of people because of what they think they know or for any other reason is ridiculous and they should get out more and see that the world is made up of all kinds of different people both good and bad regardless of race or sex.

I never heard that before...it's a sad thought. I would hope that when two people marry it is for love and not treating each other poorly. Society is guilty for treating interracial marriages poorly not having any basis other than it makes some people still uncomfortable. Some men treat their wives badly, some women treat their husbands badly. Doesn't matter their race, age, religion, it happens all the time. Stay positive, their are also happy couples too :)

Perhaps because they want to discourage that. Perhaps they are afraid of that too, just like everything else involving African Americans. White men had a field day with their wives and black wives and Native Amer. wives and so on and so forth. That is until the U.S. gov't made it a crime. So now, its shoot first, cry later. Yet, no mention of that. #1 problem in the world today? Was and always will be ignorance.

I am a white woman who has been with the same black man for ten years now, he has never hit me, called me out of name, he has not even yelled at me, no he is not a punk, he has been to jail and in trouble with law quite a few times, not since we have been together though, but this just goes to show you that all black men do not treat their wives badly. I have actually had more experience with white men treating their white wives badly. My grandma is one of these people that thinks this way about black men she is constantly asking me how we are doing and if he is being good to me, but her husband a white man has called her many names and pushed her into a table a time or two.

Thats exactly what people think, honestly you hit it right on the dot! and its sick. i mean, i've dated a few black guys, and they dont treat me any better or worse than the white. my mom and dad HATE it, and they try to explain it by saying, that its the culture differences. But there isnt really a good explination to this Opinion, :/ And its ridiculous!

Whether it's just bogus or fact, the public perception is that black men are more likely to cheat on their wives or commit domestic violence. I have a cousin, a white woman, who married a black man, and he cheated and abused her. But my white aunt married a white guy, and they've had similar problems. (Physical assault and an affair.)

I dont know because it's not true,My husband does not hit me or treat me anyway wrong that I can say is defferent from any other couple I know.To the people that does not know ,our black husbands or men does not hit us or treat us badly but in fact we get the best of sex and everthing else as goood.right guys.

Unfortunately, people that ask this question have already bought into all of the stereotypes about Black men. I work in a profession where I talk to people of all races, religions, and economic backgrounds. On a daily basis, I hear these people talk about things that happen in their home. Women from all of these categories talk about what they experience from men and it is no different. If people took the opportunity to sit on a bus or park bench and talk to each other, they would be surprised at how much they have in common. I also raise two Black teenage men that I am very proud of and who respect all women because that is what I, as I am obligated to do, have instilled in them.

Ok I'm dating a black person right now and my parents hate it even one of my step sisters hate it but then i got tired of then hating it i wrote something on facebook and alot of my family and friends were like its not wrong you should do what you think is right and i think that some people who are old grew up being told it was bad so yah and some people think of a black person as someone who thinks they are gangster or idk but not all of them are like my boyfriend is alot better then any guy i have dated and he is just like a white guy

The following is based on what I have heard from a SMALL group of black women so...take my comments for what their worth! To answer your question: Probably because mythologically black women do not tolerate nonsense. Because of this, it has been theorized that black men date white women because they want to feel more in control and get away with more.
